Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory will be completed by the end of 2024

With the goal of continuing to make the processing and manufacturing industry a spearhead economic sector of the economy, Quang Ninh has started investing in and constructing Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory, invested by Thanh Cong Group. After more than 2 years of implementation, the project is entering the final stages of completion to be ready for exploitation and operation by the end of 2024.

Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile and Supporting Industry Complex is built on a total area of 340 hectares, located in Viet Hung Industrial Park (Ha Long City), which has a strategic location, right on the shore of Cua Luc Bay, convenient for both domestic and international trade, invested by Thanh Cong Group. In particular, Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory is built on an area of 36.5 hectares, designed to be a place to produce and assemble Skoda brand cars under the investment cooperation program of the leading Czech automobile company with Thanh Cong Group. This is also the first automobile factory project in Quang Ninh, expected to add new capacity to the province's processing and manufacturing industry.

After more than 2 years of construction, the main items of the factory are basically completed, including: Welding, painting, assembly, electromechanical workshop systems and auxiliary works such as LPG stations, compressed air stations, test tracks, etc. The quality control functional areas have completed the test run in early May 2024. For equipment items, construction has reached over 90% of the total volume and will be completed in early October. To ensure progress according to plan, during the installation process, the investor and contractors have carried out the acceptance and test operation of each item in parallel. According to this schedule, in the fourth quarter of 2024, the factory will be completed and put into test run.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Ngoc, Deputy Director of Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory, said: The partners supplying equipment lines for the factory are leading partners with extensive experience in deploying for large automobile factories in the world, such as Chropynska, Wipro Pari and Durr. This helps ensure that the factory's production and assembly lines fully meet international quality standards, environmental protection standards and are ready to produce new car models in the future.

Recently, the factory began importing the first batch of components, which are car tires, to serve the testing process of the welding workshop line at the factory. According to the plan, in the first phase of operation, it will assemble SUV and B-class Sedan segments suitable for the current tastes and consumption trends of Vietnamese people. In the next phase, it will expand to environmentally friendly electric vehicles.

To accompany businesses, during the process of implementing the factory construction, Quang Ninh pays special attention to implementing support programs. The province prioritizes resources to invest in the road connecting Cai Lan Industrial Park through Viet Hung Industrial Park to Ha Long - Van Don Expressway; Van Don - Mong Cai Expressway, Tinh Yeu and Binh Minh bridges... to create the most favorable conditions for investment and business activities of the factory in particular and the industrial park in general.

Thus, by the end of 2024, Quang Ninh will officially have its first automobile factory in production. This is of great significance, not only as a premise for implementing the policy of attracting automobile industry projects using modern, smart, and environmentally friendly technology to the area, but also as a "lever" to actively attract and gather many enterprises in the automobile support industry, manufacturing components and spare parts, especially those with high technology content. Thereby, creating products with high added value, contributing to the state budget, developing the local economy in a sustainable direction, in line with the Government's orientation in the goal of increasing the localization rate, increasing autonomy in automobile production in Vietnam.
