Journalist Vu Kieu Minh re-elected Secretary of the Association

According to the report, during the 2020-2023 term, as of the end of June 2023, the number of members of the Vietnam Journalists Association working at the NTNN/Dan Viet Newspaper Branch was 122 members, an increase of 37% compared to the previous term.

During the past two and a half year term, the Association of Journalists of NTNN/Dan Viet Newspaper, despite facing many objective and subjective difficulties, under the direction of the Party Committee and the Editorial Board, has made efforts to propose solutions to improve the quality of journalistic works and properly perform the assigned functions and tasks.

The Association has consulted with the Party Committee and the Editorial Board on improving the quality and identity of news articles on Dan Viet electronic newspaper, avoiding following the tabloid trend while ignoring quality, implementing professional movements with the core implementation being the Association members such as the movement to clean up morat errors on news, conducting many series of investigative articles of discovery nature, causing great effects on public opinion; training on SEO, promoting the release of news articles on electronic newspapers to readers...

Therefore, in 2021 and 2022, NTNN/Dan Viet Newspaper has won a series of prestigious awards such as 1 A prize, 2 B prizes, 3 C prizes, many consolation prizes of the National Press Awards in 2021 and 2022; one A prize, one B prize of the Anti-Corruption Press Award for the period 2019 - 2021, one Consolation prize of the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award in 2021 and dozens of awards from ministries, branches and localities...

On the weekly and monthly NTNN/Dan Viet newspaper, there are still dozens of series of articles and special topics on hot issues and events that are in line with the purpose and objectives, protecting the legitimate rights of farmers, which have been published with the active participation of members of the Journalists Association at the regional offices and departments.

Many issues reported by NTNN/Dan Viet newspaper have received direction from the Government, ministries, and localities to resolve... with significant contributions from the Association members.

In addition, the Journalists Association has advised the Editorial Board, based on the registration of the departments, the Office to plan to register and deploy a series of high-quality investigative articles from the beginning of the year, implementing the movement to build a cultural environment in the press agency with the launch of the "5 No - 5 Yes" movement, in order to respond to the launch of the Vietnam Journalists Association in a practical and effective manner.

The quality of news and articles of NTNN/Dan Viet Newspaper is getting better and better, creating a profound effect, especially in 2021, recording many series of articles winning awards from ministries, branches and localities as well as series of articles winning high prizes at the National Press Awards, Golden Hammer and Sickle Awards, Anti-Corruption Press Awards, Dien Hong Press Awards.

In addition to the achieved results, the Association of Journalists of NTNN Newspaper frankly acknowledged that, due to objective and subjective conditions, in the last term, the Association's activities still had some problems such as the inspection and training activities on professional ethics for members were not done well and regularly and continuously; some instructions and orders from the Editorial Board on organizing professional activities were not fully implemented as set out in the Resolution; outdoor activities for members to participate were not organized...

The congress was very exciting with 7 enthusiastic comments from the members of the Association. The comments and opinions all went straight to many practical issues through the working experience and local experience of the members and journalists in the past time.

Attending and directing the Congress, journalist Luu Quang Dinh - Party Secretary, Editor-in-Chief of NTNN/Dan Viet Newspaper praised the achievements that the Association had made in the past term. Emphasizing digital transformation in journalism, journalist Luu Quang Dinh requested that in the coming time, the Association would advise and give suggestions to the Editorial Board to create a spirit of digital transformation in the agency.

Another important task is the plan to establish and upgrade the Vietnam Farmers' Association Journalists Association into a Federation of Branches, which the Editor-in-Chief of Nong Thon Ngay Nay/Dan Viet Newspaper also hopes will become a reality as soon as possible.

Appreciating the seriousness and responsibility of the NTNN Newspaper Journalists Association and its members, Ms. Vu Thi Ha - Member of the Executive Committee, Head of the Working Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association said that this explains why the NTNN Newspaper Journalists Association has achieved outstanding results during its term.

Expressing her impression with the NTNN Newspaper's own criteria of "5 yes, 5 no", Ms. Vu Thi Ha shared that if any branch could do this, the cultural environment in press agencies of all levels of the Vietnam Journalists Association would be increasingly improved.

Assessing the NTNN Newspaper Journalists Association as one of the typical branches of the Vietnam Journalists Association, the Head of the Association's Working Committee - Vietnam Journalists Association said that with the very active activities of the NTNN Newspaper Journalists Association, it is completely worthy to be upgraded to the Inter-branch of the Vietnam Farmers' Association Journalists Association according to regulations.

Regarding some tasks in the coming time, Ms. Vu Thi Ha suggested that the Association continue to promote studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology and morality, considering this as one of the political activities to determine and evaluate the qualifications and morality of members and reporters in the editorial office.

At the same time, continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the emulation movement "Building a cultural press agency environment"; effectively carry out the work of developing members and providing professional training so that professional training courses are truly a place for exchange and a useful playground, while ensuring the improvement of professional ethics, professional expertise as well as the quality of life of members...

The Congress of the Association of Journalists of NTNN Newspaper has selected 5 journalists to join the Secretariat of the Association for the 6th term, 2023 - 2025. Journalist Vu Kieu Minh - General Secretary of the editorial board and Head of the Northeast Representative Office was re-elected as Secretary of the Association. Journalist Vinh Hai - Head of the Readers' Committee was re-elected as Deputy Secretary of the Association.
