Source of inspiration for literature and art
For artist Pham Hung, Ha Giang Province Literature and Arts Association, before the trip, his imagination of Dak Nong was limited to vast coffee and pepper gardens. However, when he arrived here, he was completely amazed by the scenery and people of the sunny and windy plateau.
“As soon as we arrived here, our group of artists was warmly and hospitably welcomed by Dak Nong artists. That made me feel that this was not a business trip but a trip back to myself, back to my homeland,” artist Pham Hung shared.
During the days of exploring and finding inspiration for his work in Dak Nong, artist Pham Hung had many ideas and creative topics. Mr. Hung said that during the days of exploring the volcanic cave, his feet were placed on volcanic rocks, he could feel the energy from mother earth, from the wild nature and stories from hundreds of millions of years ago. It was this energy that gave him the inspiration to create on this trip.
“Dak Nong gives me the feeling of a land of art, where nature and people are great works. Like other artists who come here, I try to use all my intelligence and strength to create and recreate a part of the picture that Mother Nature has painstakingly created for hundreds of millions of years. However, because of limited time, I probably want to spend more time to continue exploiting the great art picture of Dak Nong in the future,” artist Pham Hung shared.
Sharing his feelings about the experience of going on a creative field trip with colleagues and artists from Ha Giang, Cao Bang and Lang Son provinces, photographer Tran Hong Van, Dak Nong Province Literature and Arts Association, said that although it was the first time they met, the passion for art was the bond that connected the members of the group. At this creative camp, he had the opportunity to exchange and share expertise and creative experiences with artists from the northern provinces.
“Every time I go, I learn, understand more, feel more deeply and have new inspiration for my compositions about the nature and people of Dak Nong,” photographer Tran Hong Van shared.
Also participating in the writing camp, writer Pham Thanh Thang, Cao Bang Province Literature and Arts Association, shared that he was completely impressed by the wild nature and the people with extremely unique culture here. Through this trip, he hopes to create a long-term work, like an epic poem that helps connect the two places of Cao Bang and Dak Nong.
“I find that the folklore of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups in Cao Bang has some similarities with the epics of the local ethnic minorities in Dak Nong. At the end of this trip, I hope to not only stop at creating a work expressing my feelings about the land I have set foot on. Above all, through literature and art, I hope to be able to connect the two heritage regions, the two localities of Cao Bang and Dak Nong. Thereby, helping to promote the image of nature, people, and heritage values of the TCGC area,” said Mr. Thang.
