Many Vietnamese fans want to say goodbye to coach Philippe Troussier soon.
The last straw was when a large number of fans showed up at My Dinh Stadium to cheer for the Vietnamese players and team in the match against Indonesia on the night of March 26, but simultaneously expressed their opposition to coach Philippe Troussier.
In addition to hanging banners with the words asking Coach Troussier to leave, after the match ended, the stands at My Dinh Stadium also heard the shouts of "Troussier out" because of disappointment and dissatisfaction with his way of using people.
Fans contribute money to compensate coach Troussier
Even after the match, it was noted that many Vietnamese fans were so angry that they transferred money to the VFF account to contribute to the compensation fund for the French coach's contract.
That's why, while working with coach Philippe Troussier, VFF continuously received balance updates, with units in hundreds of transfer orders from fans, each contributing 50 thousand VND.
Coach Troussier says goodbye to Vietnam team after 1 year of association
Previously, public opinion was heated by the topic of how much compensation VFF would have to pay Coach Troussier if he terminated his contract early, with the information that the figure was very large, up to 1.68 million USD (about 40 billion VND).
This has created a wave of Vietnamese fans expressing their willingness to contribute money to the VFF to soon say goodbye to the coach who has just turned 69, in the spirit that if each person contributes 50,000 VND, nearly 1 million people will have enough to compensate for the contract.
In fact, that wish was fulfilled when the night after the match, VFF and coach Philippe Troussier reached an agreement to terminate the contract from March 26, along with an apology to Vietnamese fans. Otherwise, perhaps the number of fans transferring money to VFF would have increased even more.
