TPO - In the scorching sun, hundreds of people still work hard to carry, break, and split rocks in Hoa Son stone splitting village (Da Nang city) to make a living.
According to the reporter, the weather in Da Nang city is extremely hot, sometimes reaching nearly 40 degrees Celsius, but the workers in Hoa Son stone splitting village are still working hard to earn money to cover their living expenses. |
This is known as the largest stone splitting village in Da Nang today. |
Mr. Pham Van Xam (residing in Xuan Phu village) said that the recent days have been extremely hot, sometimes reaching over 40 degrees Celsius, making his work much harder than usual. “The heat has greatly reduced my productivity. In previous months, I made 400,000-500,000 VND/day, but now the sun is too cloudy to bear, my hands and feet are sore from the heat, making it impossible for me to do much,” Mr. Xam said. |
The hot weather made Mr. Xam's hands sore and sweaty, making it impossible for him to chisel ice as much as before. |
Working hard to split rocks under the scorching sun, his shirt soaked with sweat, Nguyen Manh Nhan shared: “The time from 1pm to 3pm is the peak of the scorching sun, even though we know that, we still have to work, if we don’t work, how will we eat, how will we feed our families. Me and the people here are all employees, living on piece rates, so we have to try to work a lot to hope to have enough money to cover expenses.” |
According to Mr. Nhan, if these workers do not work in stone, they do not know what to do, and if they work in the fields, the cost is not enough to take care of their children and family. |
Despite the scorching heat, many people are still diligently clinging to the rocks every day. |
Despite the nature of their work, having to make a living under the harsh sun, their faces always have bright smiles and love of life. |
The heat makes it very difficult for hundreds of workers to make a living. |
The harsh weather is becoming a huge pressure for workers in the stone-splitting village because of the nature of their work, which is done outdoors and exposed to many risks and dangers. However, they still brave the heat to make a living. |
