Vietnam Fire Prevention and Rescue Association and the Fire Police force will organize a quarterly program to experience and practice fire prevention and escape.

On December 16-17, people, students and pupils in provinces and cities across the country will directly experience fire prevention and escape skills on fire prevention and rescue vehicles. This is a practical and meaningful activity, conveying to people basic knowledge and skills on fire prevention, fire fighting and escape.

The representative of the Vietnam Fire Prevention and Rescue Association added that the program will be held at the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) and simultaneously in localities nationwide. Each locality will organize at least 1 location at the headquarters of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (or another location arranged by the provincial or municipal police).

The organization time will include: Morning (from 8:30 - 11:30), afternoon (from 14:00 - 17:00). The representative of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Association said that the activities to experience and practice firefighting, rescue and first aid skills include: Experience rescuing people, moving to escape in a smoky environment; practice using portable fire extinguishers to extinguish fires; practice moving people with bare hands; practice spreading fire hoses; practice spraying water into a focus box; practice escaping from above using a rope; instructing on some first aid techniques for victims.
"Participating in this program, in addition to the above experiential activities, people, students and pupils will also be introduced to and learn about firefighting and rescue equipment and vehicles of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Force, as well as learn about the model of inter-family fire safety teams, the model of public fire stations, etc. that are being deployed nationwide," said a representative of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Association.

The representative of the Vietnam Fire Prevention and Rescue Association assessed that through recent fires, we have seen that people who have been trained in fire prevention and rescue skills have better experience and ability to escape on their own than those who have not been equipped with the skills. Many people even help others escape.

Previously, on October 7-8, the program to experience and practice fire prevention and fighting and rescue skills was simultaneously organized at more than 222 locations nationwide. The Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department estimated that 300,000 people learned fire prevention and fighting skills through the program.
