The President Ho Chi Minh Memorial was built by veteran Bui Xuan Phuoc, 89 years old, on his family's land, located in Phuoc Dong commune, Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province. For nearly 30 years, Mr. Phuoc has devoted all his efforts and money to building a "miniature" museum about Uncle Ho. Thereby, displaying over 100 artifacts, images, and documents related to President Ho Chi Minh, becoming a "red address" in the hearts of Khanh Hoa people.

In the "miniature" museum area of about 2,200 m2, nestled among houses and gardens in Phuoc Tan village, sipping a cup of tea, Mr. Phuoc said that he joined the revolution at the age of 15, experienced two resistance wars against France and America, and his respect and affection for Uncle Ho had been deeply ingrained in his blood and flesh without him knowing.

After the country was unified, Mr. Phuoc returned to work in the museum in Phu Khanh province (now Phu Yen province, Khanh Hoa ), then became the Director of Phu Yen Provincial Museum (when the province was separated) until 1995. When he retired, feeling that "this was the time to realize his life's dream", the veteran rode his motorbike across the country for 4 months to visit his old comrades, learn, exchange experiences, collect documents, images, and artifacts about Uncle Ho.

In October 1997, Mr. Phuoc pooled his savings to buy land in Phuoc Dong commune and began construction. However, the construction cost was a "challenging problem" for the veteran, to the point of "asking back" the land he had given to his daughter. However, his family still supported him because they admired his love and respect for Uncle Ho. "I am always proud, grateful and respectful of the beloved leader of the nation. I consider this my duty, determined to do it, to build a place for generations to understand more deeply about Uncle Ho's life," said Mr. Phuoc.

In 2002, Mr. Phuoc completed the Uncle Ho Temple project. However, it was not until 2010, after collecting basic documents, images, and artifacts that "basically summarized" the highlights of Uncle Ho's life and career, that the veteran's President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Area was officially inaugurated.

Despite his advanced age, whenever he hears of a Ho Chi Minh Museum or a branch of the museum, Mr. Phuoc does not hesitate to travel from the south to the north to research, learn, and collect documents about the life and revolutionary career of Uncle Ho. He considers the past 30 years a "special journey" to create a place that helps generations "see with their own eyes, hear with their own ears", and better understand the heart filled with love of President Ho Chi Minh. He hopes that the competent authorities will consider recognizing the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Area at his family's home as one of the branches of the Ho Chi Minh Museum established and managed by the private sector.

Among more than 100 artifacts, images, and documents related to President Ho Chi Minh currently on display at Mr. Phuoc's family, there are many images and artifacts that impress people such as the model of the Amiral Latouche Treville ship that the patriotic young man Van Ba boarded to find a way to save the country; the model of the Stilt House, where Uncle Ho lived and worked at the Presidential Palace after 1954; a copy of the pink brick that he used to keep warm during his time in France from 1919 to 1923; a copy of the microphone that President Ho Chi Minh used to read the Declaration of Independence on September 2, 1945 at Ba Dinh Square; the stilt house, the khaki shirt, the rubber sandals, the sandal, the leather-strap suitcase, the pink brick... all restored in their original form at the Vietnam Revolution Museum.
