Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, model Ngoc Quyen said that for nearly a decade, she has lived and worked in the US. For many years, due to her busy work schedule, Ngoc Quyen has not had the opportunity to return to Vietnam on New Year's Day to enjoy the traditional Tet atmosphere in her homeland.
The model confided that for 10 years, she always thought she would arrange time to return to her hometown, but due to work and unfinished goals, she was unable to return in the end.
"Every time my son sees his friends returning to Vietnam, he reminds me. I also tell him that when we have time, he and I will return to visit our homeland," she shared.

Ngoc Quyen said she has a store in the US and a son to take care of, so every time she wants to go somewhere or do something, she has a specific, clear plan and cannot act on impulse.
Ngoc Quyen's Tet this year is similar to every year. To welcome the new year, the model went to the market to shop and decorate her house. She also performed traditional Vietnamese rituals such as displaying fruits and cakes, worshiping her ancestors, and welcoming the New Year...
The model also does not forget the Vietnamese habits such as burning incense, picking lucky branches, sending and receiving lucky money on New Year's Day, so that she and her family always feel happy and cozy. Ngoc Quyen confided that the further away from home she is, the more she remembers and maintains the good cultural traditions of her homeland Vietnam.

In particular, Ngoc Quyen loves wearing traditional ao dai to go to the pagoda at the moment of transition between the old year and the new year. Sometimes, she wears ao dai to watch the fireworks to welcome the new year until 3am before returning home.
The model born in 1988 also shared that this Tet, she had Ao Dai made in Vietnam, then brought them to the US to sell, both to earn extra income and to see it as a joy because she promoted the beauty of Vietnamese people.
"In America, when I go to parties or go out, I often wear ao dai. Americans also give a lot of compliments to the Vietnamese ao dai. Because I sell ao dai, my son is never without an ao dai," Ngoc Quyen shared.
The model also said that the area where she lives has many Vietnamese people, so the atmosphere during Tet is very bustling, making her miss her hometown less. In addition, her biological mother has now settled in the US, so Ngoc Quyen is also assured, gradually getting used to the atmosphere and people here.
"I find Tet here not too different from Tet in Vietnam. People also light fireworks, go to pagodas, decorate their houses, and gather together very happily," she shared.
Ngoc Quyen believes that in a busy life, if you are in a happy mood, you will feel fulfilled no matter where you celebrate Tet. The model added that because she is self-employed, her working and resting hours are not fixed.
"Every year, I take Tet holiday until the 5th, sometimes earlier or later. But this year, because I work in construction with an American company, Tet holiday is impossible. However, I mainly work on my phone, and I work at the same company as my boyfriend, so it's easier (laughs)", Ngoc Quyen shared.

Talking about the "year of birth" Giap Thin 2024 (Ngoc Quyen was born in 1988, the year of the Dragon), Ngoc Quyen said she was a bit worried. However, she believes that no matter what time or where, living well is still the most important thing.
"Over the years, I have experienced all kinds of storms. If there are things that are bound to happen, I cannot avoid them. So for now, just live happily, God has already decided whether good or bad things will happen," Ngoc Quyen expressed.
