According to the latest information, the Higher Court of Sports Justice (STJD) has imposed penalties on 13 players for their involvement in match-fixing.
Midfielder Andre Luiz was banned from playing for 600 days.
Notably, among these is midfielder Andre Luiz of Nam Dinh Club.
Specifically, the Brazilian player is accused of being involved in creating penalties in three matches in Brazil's Serie B in 2022.
Immediately after the incident, Andre Luiz was removed from the squad by his former team Ituano. In addition, this player was fined 10,000 USD and suspended for 600 days.
Following the STJD ruling, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) asked the International Football Federation (FIFA) to communicate the penalty to all member federations.
At the same time, CBF will also send a notice about Andre Luiz's penalty to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).
Andre Luiz joined Nam Dinh Club in phase 2 of V-League 2023.
Although he has just started playing for the team from Thanh Nam, the player born in 1995 has left quite a good impression professionally.
Andre Luiz is a midfielder with impressive technique, physique and aggressive play.
But with such a penalty, it is likely that both parties will have to terminate the contract sooner than expected.
As of this moment of the 2023 V-League season, Nam Dinh is ranked 6th on the rankings with 26 points.
In the final round of V-League 2023, coach Vu Hong Viet and his team will host Ha Tinh at Thien Truong Stadium.
