During this tour in major cities of Vietnam, artist Olivier Moulin will play piano solo in a special classical music program in memory of the great French composer Gabriel Fauré on the 100th anniversary of his death (1924-2024).

Born on 12 May 1845 in Pamiers (Ariège) and died on 4 November 1924 in Paris, Gabriel Fauré was a great French pianist, organist and composer. A student of Saint-Saëns and Gustave Lefèvre at the Niedermeyer School in Paris, Fauré conducted the orchestra at the Madeleine church in Paris, before becoming an organist. He was later appointed professor of composition at the Paris Conservatory and from 1905 to 1920 he served as director of the Conservatory. He was one of the greatest French composers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Fauré's works are distinguished by their melodic sophistication and compositional balance. If Gabriel Fauré is recognized as a genius of harmony, he is also considered a master of French melody.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his death, this concert is organized to pay tribute to the great French composer and pedagogue Gabriel Fauré and the two great artists he trained. Through the concert, we will have the opportunity to enjoy some of his very special piano works. These works are like a mirror when performed alongside the music of his two most outstanding students, Georges Enesco and Maurice Ravel, who showed deep respect for their teacher.
