Meritorious Artist Anh Thai's family said he was involved in a traffic accident on his way to collect his pension. After a week in the hospital, the hospital announced that he could not be cured.

Two days after returning home, he breathed his last.

Remembered for the movie Chi Dau

Artist Nguyen Anh Thai belongs to the first generation of film actors, the leading generation of Vietnamese revolutionary cinema. The first film he participated in was the role of a youth union secretary, a supporting role in the film Smoke .

After that, he played a series of supporting roles, other secondary roles such as soldier Kinh in Nguoi chien si tre , soldier Song in Noi gio, Phan in Sau con bao ...

The role of Mr. Dau in the movie Chi Dau brought the name Anh Thai closer to the audience.

When making the movie Chi Dau , director Pham Van Khoa told Mr. Thai: "You cannot accept the main role (Chi Dau). As for the three secondary roles after the main role, you can accept any role."

While the role of Chi Dau has a lot of room to act, the role of her husband - Anh Dau - lacks room to act. That makes Anh Thai have to explore and be creative in every little action he takes every time he appears on film.

In this film, Anh Thai plays with two writers Nguyen Tuan (as the Chief) and Kim Lan (as the former Ly).

Although these are two supporting roles, the two writers worked very seriously. That made Mr. Thai always remind himself to "find the uniqueness, the uniqueness, the uniqueness of each character to express and create".

Remembering the soldier Song from the movie Rising Wind

As for actor Anh Thai, many people remember the role of Anh Dau in the movie Chi Dau , while cinematographer Tran Hung remembers the role of soldier Song in the movie Noi Gio (1966) - one of the best films of Vietnamese revolutionary cinema.

Tran Hung's father was the director of Tran Cam Film. When Tran Hung was 8 or 9 years old, during summer vacation, his father often took him to the film set to play.

Tran Hung met "uncle" Anh Thai for the first time at the filming set of the movie Noi Gio (directed by Huy Thanh, Le Ba Huyen).

Cinematographer Tran Hung told Tuoi Tre Online that, to him, "that was the most impressive and best role of Anh Thai."

According to this veteran cinematographer, although he is an actor who specializes in supporting roles, Anh Thai is a very unique actor, from his smile to his appearance... In fact, his supporting roles are even more impressive than his main roles.

"He didn't have much screen time, but he tried to research and study the character very carefully to have his own unique acting style, making the role "live" in the audience's hearts," Tran Hung said. "Until now, I still remember the face of soldier Song in Noi Gio ."

Tran Hung added that in real life, "uncle" Anh Thai is a very cheerful and friendly person, not as difficult to approach as many other artists.

"When he was young, Uncle Anh Thai's face was very bright. He had a very tolerant smile. In that smile there was sharing. Young people like me could tell him many things that we couldn't tell others," Tran Hung said of his biggest impression of his "old friend" Anh Thai who had just passed away.
