Thanh Thuy sets new milestone
After the first two matches of the 2024-2025 Turkish Women's Volleyball National Championship (VĐQG), Kozeyboru Club has a record of 1 win, 1 loss. Thanh Thuy's team defeated Aydin B.Sehir Bld Club with a score of 3-0, before losing dramatically 2-3 to a very strong opponent, Vakifbank Club.
Since the brightest star of Vietnamese women's volleyball went to Türkiye, fans have paid special attention to Kuzeyboru Club. However, the audience was somewhat disappointed when they did not see Thanh Thuy appear in the first two matches of the 2024 - 2025 Turkish Women's Volleyball Championship. Even in specific situations in the match where viewers thought that Kuzeyboru Club would need Thanh Thuy, the 1.93 m tall spiker was still not given a chance.
Thanh Thuy first appeared on the field, at the end of game 1 in the match between Kuzeyboru Club and THY Club, in round 3 of the Turkish National Women's Volleyball Championship.
It was not until the evening of October 19 that Tran Thi Thanh Thuy was officially allowed to compete in the new team's jersey at the 2024 - 2025 Turkish Women's Volleyball Championship taking place on. With the opportunity to play for Kuzeyboru Club, Thanh Thuy set a new milestone for Vietnamese volleyball, becoming the first athlete to compete in Türkiye, where women's volleyball is among the top in the world.
Specifically, in the match of round 3, Thanh Thuy was sent off the bench in game 1, when Kuzeyboru Club was trailing THY Club 20/16. The main striker born in 1997 left his mark after entering the field with accurate first-step situations. However, Kuzeyboru Club still lost 18/25 in the first game.
Can't compete for position
After losing in game 1, the head coach of Kuzeyboru Club withdrew Thanh Thuy. Kuzeyboru played with great effort in game 2 and won a thrilling 31-29 victory over THY Club. But then, THY Club showed their superiority in games 3 and 4, winning 25/22 and 25/18 respectively. In the end, THY Club won 3-1 against Kuzeyboru Club.
Regarding Thanh Thuy, the Vietnamese hitter, although she set a new milestone for Vietnamese volleyball, perhaps the happy day was not complete for the 1.93 m tall main attacker. The main attacker of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team was only on the court for a few minutes at the end of the first set and did not have time to contribute any points to the Kuzeyboru Club in the last match.
Thanh Thuy cannot compete for a position with other foreign players of Kuzeyboru Club.
With what has happened, Vietnamese volleyball fans in general have reason to worry about Thanh Thuy. The pressure of competition for positions is very high in a team competing in a high-quality national championship like Turkey. Besides, the main attacker is always the most important position in the squad, so the competition becomes even more fierce. The Vietnamese hitter has not had many opportunities because the two Russian foreign players, opposite Anna Lazareva, main attacker Magarita Kurilo and Turkish domestic player Ayse Curuk, are playing well and stably.
In the coming time, Kuzeyboru Club, in addition to competing in the 2024 - 2025 Turkish Women's Volleyball Championship, will also compete in the CEV Cup. With a more dense competition schedule, the head coach will begin to calculate options for rotating the team to ensure the achievement of the set goals.
