At around 4pm on June 30, many places in Ho Chi Minh City experienced rain lasting more than an hour. The heavy rain caused many roads to be severely flooded.

Notably, this is the third consecutive heavy rain in 3 days and also caused widespread flooding on "flood-prone" roads.

Due to the flooded roads, in some places, more than half a meter deep, people had difficulty traveling and their daily lives were affected. Many businesses had their houses flooded, causing damage to their furniture and forcing them to close early.

Previously, the Southern Region Hydrometeorological Station warned that satellite cloud images, weather radar images and lightning positioning showed that thunderstorms were developing and causing rain and thunderstorms in the areas of Can Gio, Binh Chanh, Nha Be, and the central districts, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi, and Thu Duc City.

In addition, convective clouds developing in Tay Ninh, Binh Duong, and Long An tend to move toward Ho Chi Minh City, causing rain.

Accordingly, this agency warns that thunderstorms will continue to develop, causing showers with thunderstorms and lightning, with rainfall ranging from 10-20mm, with some places exceeding 30mm. During thunderstorms, watch out for tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind of about level 5-6 (8-14m/s).
