Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's second working day at the 43rd ASEAN Summit

Early on the morning of September 5, on the occasion of attending the 43rd ASEAN Summit and related conferences in Jakarta, Indonesia, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a working breakfast with Prime Minister of the Lao PDR Sonexay Siphandone and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia Hun Manet.

In a friendly, cordial, open and substantive atmosphere, the three Prime Ministers informed each other about the socio-economic development situation in each country; discussed areas of common cooperation and international and regional issues of mutual concern. The three Prime Ministers agreed to continue to maintain regular bilateral and trilateral exchanges and contacts, and maintain the mechanism of working breakfasts between the three Prime Ministers on the occasion of attending international conferences to continuously strengthen solidarity, friendship and cooperation, discuss regional and international issues of mutual concern, and seek solutions to problems arising in the relationship between the three countries. Immediately afterwards, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received leaders of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) and a number of prominent Indonesian businesses, aiming to promote the strategic partnership between the two countries for regional prosperity.

Indonesian businesses wish to continue investing in Vietnam in the fields of finance and banking; green transformation, including energy transformation such as renewable energy and electric vehicles; investment in the mining industry; real estate investment, including social housing development; linkage in agricultural production, etc.

The Prime Minister highly appreciated Indonesian enterprises investing in Vietnam; welcomed and agreed with the fields that enterprises are interested in, in line with the development orientation of the two countries and world trends...; suggested that enterprises of the two countries, especially KADIN and VCCI, strengthen connections, coordinate information exchange, build specific, practical, long-term, stable programs, projects, and cooperation agreements, ensuring harmony of interests between the parties.

The Prime Minister asked Indonesian businesses and investors to continue to maximize the capabilities and advantages of both sides; dynamism and creativity; properly implement investment commitments: “If said, do”; “If committed, must be implemented”; comply with legal regulations; promote social responsibility, responsibility to workers, and develop prosperously with Vietnam.

At 10:00 a.m. on September 5, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and heads of ASEAN delegations attended the welcoming ceremony of Indonesian President Joko Widodo and his wife, and attended the opening ceremony and plenary session of the 43rd ASEAN Summit.
