The National STEM Festival (Vietnam STEM Festival, abbreviated as STEM Festival, abbreviated as VSF) was first held in 2015 at Hanoi University of Science and Technology under the initiative of Tia Sang Magazine (formerly a publication of Science and Development Newspaper under the Ministry of Science and Technology) and the STEM Alliance, under the direction of the Ministry of Science and Technology. Up to now, the National STEM Festival has been held periodically for 8 consecutive years.

In addition to the purpose of spreading, motivating, and encouraging the passion for learning, scientific research, technology, and creativity of Vietnamese students, the National STEM Festival 2023 is also organized to raise public awareness of the role of science, technology, and innovation, promote the application of science and technology in life; improve research capacity, enhance education of basic skills, knowledge, creative thinking, and the ability to adapt to the requirements of the 4th Industrial Revolution.

With changes in goals, structure, and identity, STEM Festival 2023 includes main activities such as: National STEM competitions such as: Rocket shooting competition, robot competition; STEM seminars and forums; exhibitions and display spaces promoting STEM; STEM experience and challenge activities; local STEM activities...

Speaking at the launching ceremony of STEM Day 2023, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh emphasized: “In the context of digital transformation being an inevitable trend and a direct solution to improve capacity and competitive advantage, the interdisciplinary and inter-disciplinary approach through STEM education can be considered a suitable approach to improve knowledge and skills on digital transformation for young people, and needs to be further promoted in the coming time. The Organizing Committee chose the theme of STEM Day 2023 as “Vietnam breaks through to new heights” as an affirmation of the strong internal strength of STEM education in Vietnam, thereby strongly encouraging the efforts of teachers and students across the country on the journey of searching for and expanding scientific knowledge in the new context”.

Also at the launching ceremony, the new logo and identity of the National STEM Festival and the Organizing Committee of the STEM Festival 2023 were officially launched.
