Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival 2024 wins big thanks to real promotions

After 4 exciting days despite the hot weather, on the evening of April 7, Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival 2024 ended with surprising numbers.

The festival attracted 160,000 visitors to interact and enjoy art programs in the space of 23-9 Park (District 1).

More than 400 tourism products, programs and services are discounted up to 60% by tourism service companies; 100 international tourism programs and inter-regional tourism programs of cities as well as provinces in the Mekong Delta and Southeast with promotional ticket prices up to 35% by tourism companies.

The festival marked the largest tourism stimulus package ever, meeting the diverse needs of domestic and foreign tourists. Many travel and accommodation businesses took advantage of this ideal time to introduce new tourism products and services, bringing golden opportunities for tourists to own the most attractive 30-4, 1-5 and summer holiday tours on the market.

Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said that according to quick reports from tourism businesses, sales revenue after 4 days of operation is estimated to reach more than 140 billion VND , an increase of 33.3% compared to 2023 and an increase of 16.67% compared to 2019.

"The Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival 2024 has opened up many interesting things for people and domestic and foreign tourists to explore, experience, freely choose, and prepare for themselves the most attractive and interesting gifts on the occasion of April 30, May 1 and the upcoming summer", said Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa, Deputy Director of the City Department of Tourism.

Overseas tours still dominate

According to Vietravel's sales department, during the event, the booth welcomed more than 12,000 visitors, including more than 6,600 bookings for preferential tours. The tour products that customers preferred when buying tours were tours to the Central region, sea tours in Nha Trang, Phu Quoc... as well as specialized tourism product sets.

Besides, the Thailand charter tour flying with Vietravel Airlines with a preferential price from only 4.99 million VND is also quickly booked and sold out by many tourists.

Saigontourist Travel estimates that revenue over the past 3 days reached over 7.5 billion VND. TST Tourist estimates that it earned over 11.4 billion VND after 4 days. Of which, the peak days fall on the first and last days of the festival.

"The booth welcomed more than 5,000 visitors. On April 7 alone, there were more than 60 tour booking requests. This is a very positive number," said Mr. Nguyen Minh Man, in charge of communications at TST.

Benthanh Tourist representative is also excited with sales increasing 4 times compared to last year, with an average of 1,000 visitors/day: "The number of visitors is not too crowded but the purchasing power is very good in terms of value and number of tours".

Like many other businesses, a representative of Viet Travel Company said that deep promotions have actually stimulated demand and a high rate of customers booking tours. After 3 days, the company's booth earned more than 20 billion VND, with best-selling products being Northeast Asia tours such as Japan - Korea - China and European routes. For domestic tours, destinations such as Phu Quoc, tours to the northern and central provinces are attractive.

"The rate of customers booking Asian tours is about 60%. Tours to the Northern provinces are surprisingly "hot", because before that we were also hesitant because of the high airfares", said a representative of Viet Tourism Company.
