National Great Unity Day in Nho Quan Arouses and promotes the strength of community cohesion

Over the past 20 years, the National Great Unity Day has been organized in a disciplined manner by residential areas in Nho Quan district, becoming a widespread political and social activity. During the festival, in addition to organizing a solemn ceremony, residential areas also focus on organizing a festival with many meaningful activities such as cultural exchanges, arts, sports imbued with traditional cultural features of the regions..., thus attracting a large number of people from all walks of life to participate. The practical activities of the festival not only enrich the spiritual life of the people but more importantly, they have aroused and promoted the strength of community cohesion to work together to cultivate and promote the unique beauty of each residential area, joining hands to make life better and better.

Having the opportunity to attend the National Great Unity Festival in Ao Luon village, Ky Phu commune (Nho Quan), we felt more clearly the joy and pride of each local person. During the festival, many cultural, artistic and sports activities were organized such as: art exchange, organizing competitions in playing mat, throwing con, shooting crossbows, swinging, walking on stilts..., creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere, attracting a large number of people to participate.

Mr. Bui Ngoc Thanh, Party Cell Secretary, Head of the Front Work Committee of Ao Luon village excitedly said: It has become a tradition that every year, on the occasion of the anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's traditional day, the villagers enthusiastically prepare for the Festival such as: Decorating their houses, cleaning the village roads; participating in sports training, practicing art performances, participating in festival decorations... Many families also call on their children who are studying and working in all parts of the country to come back to attend the Festival, creating a joyful, exciting, warm atmosphere, promoting the spirit of solidarity in the community.

By participating in the Festival, people can better understand the political tasks of the locality, and see the contributions of each individual and each family in building a cultural and united community. For the people of Ao Luon village, where 100% of the Muong people live, the Festival is also an opportunity to pass on and exchange the cultural values of the Muong people, and also an opportunity for each child living far from home to return to reunite with their family and share the joy with the villagers on the festival. Thereby, the good values and traditions of the nation, and the unique cultural features of the Muong people are passed on and promoted.

Nho Quan currently has 268 residential areas. Every year, the National Great Unity Day is held simultaneously in 100% of residential areas in the district with the participation rate of families in the residential areas reaching over 90%, many residential areas have 100% of households participating. On this occasion, people in the residential areas meet, exchange, discuss issues of concern, share experiences, good practices in economic development, and strengthen cohesion in the residential community.

This is also an opportunity to propagate and educate the traditions of the homeland and country; disseminate and mobilize all classes of people to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; constantly expand social democracy, promote the people's mastery, strengthen consensus in the community; promote patriotic emulation movements and campaigns; commend outstanding collectives, individuals and households. Over 95% of residential areas in the district have organized "Great Unity Meals". Over the past 20 years, the whole district has had over 3,500 outstanding households and individuals being commended at the Festival. This is an activity that contributes to making the Festival more meaningful, further consolidating the solidarity, harmony and warmth among the people in the community.

During the Festival, many cultural, artistic and sports activities were organized such as cultural exchanges, sports such as badminton, volleyball, chess, folk games... In communes with a large number of ethnic minorities, residential areas organized sports activities such as: mat fighting, throwing con, crossbow shooting, swinging, walking on stilts... Thereby, the good values, traditions of the nation, unique cultural features of the ethnic groups in the area were preserved and promoted.

In particular, during the Festival, many residential areas launched emulation movements associated with the implementation of local political tasks, such as: emulation "Building cultural families", "Building cultural residential areas", building typical families "Exemplary grandparents, filial children" ... Through these activities, it contributes to building a new lifestyle; superstitious, backward customs, disasters, and social evils are gradually pushed back. At the Festival, people discussed and decided on activities directly related to the community such as the issue of building new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, and models; solutions to promote the movement to encourage learning and talent; ensuring security and order; preventing and combating social evils; helping each other in economic development, expanding occupations, solving employment, helping each other with capital, plant varieties, livestock, etc.

The successful organization of the National Great Unity Day in each residential area in Nho Quan district has contributed to the effective implementation of emulation movements and campaigns launched by the Fatherland Front at all levels. Notably, the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" has been widely deployed with practical and effective content. By the end of 2022, 26/26 communes in the district had met new rural standards, of which 2 communes met model new rural standards and 3 communes met advanced new rural standards. On June 2, 2022, the Prime Minister signed a decision to recognize Nho Quan district as meeting new rural standards.

The National Great Unity Day in Nho Quan district has always received the attention, leadership and direction of Party committees and authorities at all levels, and the participation of the entire political system. It has received the support and response of the majority of people, has had a spreading effect, and contributed to improving the material and spiritual life of the people, and building Nho Quan district into a truly livable countryside.
