Towards the 20th anniversary of Vietnam Entrepreneurs Day on October 13, on October 4, at the Government headquarters, a meeting between the Government Standing Committee and Vietnamese entrepreneurs will take place to acknowledge the important milestones of the business community over the past time. At the same time, it will synthesize opinions, proposals and solutions to perfect institutions, liberate resources and create development momentum for the business community.

Vietnam currently has more than 900,000 active enterprises, 5 million business households and nearly 30,000 cooperatives with a team of entrepreneurs numbering in the millions. Enterprises and entrepreneurs are present in almost all industries and fields of production and business, from agriculture to industry and services. Not only stopping at the domestic market, many Vietnamese enterprises have reached out to regional and global markets, contributing to bringing Vietnamese brands to the world and enhancing the country's position in the international arena.

Representing the business community, Vice President of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Hoang Quang Phong commented: The country is entering a new phase of transformation, Vietnamese entrepreneurs have demonstrated their strength and resilience in the face of challenges.

At the working sessions with the business community, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the urgent need for the coming years that Vietnam needs domestic enterprises that are large enough, competitive, and reach international standards. These enterprises will play a pivotal role, leading the industrialization and modernization process, in the spirit of Resolution 29-NQ/TW on continuing to promote the country's industrialization and modernization to 2030, with a vision to 2045, as well as Resolution 41-NQ/TW of the Politburo on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new period.

In recent times, despite facing many major challenges, especially from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, fluctuations in import-export markets due to geopolitical conflicts from major countries, natural disasters, etc., Vietnamese entrepreneurs have quickly adapted and found creative solutions. Many businesses have transformed their business models, invested in technology and proactively sought new markets, thereby not only overcoming difficulties but also expanding their scale and improving their competitiveness.

Vice President Hoang Quang Phong noted: Not only that, entrepreneurs also face pressure from innovation and sustainable development, the urgency of environmental protection and social responsibility... also motivating them to proactively apply green production measures, save energy to optimize production processes, creating greater value for the community.

Affirming the leading role of enterprises, Mr. Nguyen Van Thoi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TNG Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company, said that in recent years, the trend of digital transformation and towards sustainable development has become a strong driving force, helping to change the thinking of many enterprises. The team of entrepreneurs and enterprises are currently holding key positions and roles in the digital economy. From there, contributing to promoting the process of industrialization and modernization of the country, pushing back the risk of falling behind and enhancing the position of the Vietnamese economy in the international arena. Many entrepreneurs have made Vietnamese intelligence, chivalry and talent shine when their names have gone beyond the country, ranking with the great entrepreneurs in the world.

"As an entrepreneur, I always focus on innovation to digitize production and business processes, invest in modern machinery and equipment; innovate corporate governance methods according to digital technology to improve labor productivity and the efficiency of the company's production and business activities to meet the requirements of the market mechanism. In addition, I take care of the lives of employees, fully implement policies and benefits, ensure that 100% of employees have stable jobs, pay social insurance in accordance with the law; at the same time, complete payment to the State budget, and perform well in social security work," Mr. Thoi expressed.

Sharing from practice, Mr. Tran Manh Bao, Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Director of ThaiBinh Seed Group Joint Stock Company said: Vietnamese entrepreneurs are increasingly developing strongly in both quantity and quality, inheriting the tradition of patriotism, promoting the will of self-reliance, self-reliance, and the spirit of dedication to the nation. This affirms the important role and contribution to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. Some businesses have developed to reach regional and world levels, contributing to enhancing the position and prestige of Vietnam in the international arena.

However, the reality is that Vietnamese enterprises are still small, have low management skills, little capital, outdated science and technology, and there are not many large enterprises leading them. In addition, the connection between enterprises is not good and not really tight. Many entrepreneurs are putting personal interests and economic interests above all social interests. In addition, the training of entrepreneurs is not really good and has not been focused on. Somewhere, there is still a situation where entrepreneurs take advantage of the unsynchronized and loose legal policies on business to make profits...

Faced with this reality, Mr. Bao believes that Vietnamese businesses and entrepreneurs need to strengthen their close and tight connections. Businesses in the same industry should support and help each other, avoiding the situation of each person doing their own thing, manipulative tricks in business...

"Only when all Vietnamese businessmen live with a heart for the development of the country, for their employees and for the value of the products that the business brings to society, can we be sure that the country will develop more and more," Mr. Bao affirmed.
