Ha Tinh Electricity Company is strengthening technical solutions to ensure stable power supply and minimize damage during the upcoming storm season.
During the rainy and stormy season, thunderstorms often occur in Loc Yen commune (Huong Khe), causing power grid failures. In 2022, this locality had 7 incidents of low-voltage line breaks, meter box fires... due to thunderstorms and lightning interrupting the power supply process. Therefore, in recent times, Huong Khe Power Company has increased inspection and handling of defects in the power line system in this area.
Huong Loc 1 transformer station (Huong Thuong village, Loc Yen commune) is supplying electricity to 267 customers. Recently, the specialized sector has mobilized workers to renovate the transformer station and power lines; handle supply and line contacts; balance and reverse phases, install high-rise covers for conductors... to increase the reliability of power supply during the rainy and stormy season.

In addition to Loc Yen, communes in Huong Khe district that are frequently affected by thunderstorms and lightning such as Huong Lam, Phu Gia, Huong Thuy, Huong Vinh... have all received plans to invest in technical infrastructure by Huong Khe Power Company.
According to Mr. Pham Luong Trung - Director of Huong Khe Electricity, the unit has been strengthening inspection, consolidating and overcoming existing problems for 100% of the power line system, especially lines 371 and 372 A18.0 supplying power from Ho Ho Hydropower Plant. In addition, Huong Khe still has a 10 kV power grid with more than 155 km, so the unit pays great attention to technical solutions, replacing poor quality equipment to reduce power loss and reduce incidents when natural disasters occur.
Ky Anh Electricity is managing and operating a large number of power lines through Ky Anh town and Ky Anh district. The power grid runs through many types of terrain such as mountains and coastal areas, so the risk of incidents during storms and tornadoes is very high. Faced with this situation, the professional sector has proactively taken measures to increase the reliability of power supply for the entire grid system.

Mr. Dang Don Son - Director of Ky Anh Electricity said: "To ensure power supply during the storm season, the unit has focused on checking equipment on the grid, handling 2,560 defects on the grid, replacing 752 porcelain balls, replacing poor quality conductors... In some areas where thunderstorms often occur, affecting the grid such as: Ky Loi, Ky Nam, Ky Ha, Ky Ninh... (Ky Anh Town), the unit has supplemented the supply, grounding lines, replacing and installing additional lightning protection for lines and transformer stations to ensure operation when there is lightning. In addition, deploying the energization of the 110kV Ky Anh 2 Transformer Station and operating 5 new 35 kV and 22 kV output lines to supply electricity exclusively to Ky Anh district. At the same time, coordinating with local authorities in clearing trees inside and outside the grid safety corridor at 932 pole spaces...".
According to records, the remaining 10 power branches are also mobilizing maximum human resources, means, and materials, conducting periodic inspections day and night, and overcoming existing problems on the grid before the rainy and stormy season. Specifically, regularly monitoring the operating status of distribution transformers using remote measurement software. Thereby, performing phase balancing, load sharing of 1,274 transformer stations and rotating 161 overloaded and underloaded transformers; renovating 295 km of high and medium voltage lines, 216 km of low voltage lines and 247 transformer stations, helping to ensure safety and contribute to urban beauty.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tri Dung - Head of Technical Department (Ha Tinh Electricity Company), grasping the growth rate of the load and ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the power grid, especially during the rainy and stormy season, the company has just energized and put into operation the output lines of the 110kV Ha Tinh E18.13 transformer station; transferring the 972E18.7 transmission line to operate at 22kV voltage level to meet the demand of the load and ensure the quality of electricity. In addition, grasping the information that Ha Tinh is an area with a high density of thunderstorms compared to the whole country, the company is deploying the installation and replacement of 200 old lightning arresters that do not ensure operation to minimize the impact of lightning spreading on the grid.

In addition to technical solutions, Ha Tinh Power Company also promotes measures to ensure grid safety during the rainy and stormy season. Mr. Bui Quang Nhiem - Head of Safety Department (Ha Tinh Power Company) informed that since the beginning of the year, the company has organized the cutting and clearing of 1,446 pole spaces with trees outside the corridor; regularly maintained the periodic cutting and clearing of over 2,560 pole spaces with trees inside the corridor, ensuring safe distances in grid operation. The company also sent 3,622 propaganda notices and leaflets to customers living, producing and doing business in and on both sides of the grid safety corridor; distributed 4,253 copies of the "electrical safety handbook"; sent Zalo messages, SMS messages to propagate the protection of the grid safety corridor to 440,000 customers; promoted the dissemination of measures to ensure electrical safety among the people in many other forms...
