In Hanoi, after nearly 5 years of implementing the OCOP Program, up to now, 29/30 districts, towns and cities have evaluated and classified over 2,769
OCOP products . Of these, 6 products have achieved 5 stars, 12 products have achieved 5-star potential, 1,485 products have achieved 4 stars and 1,266 products have achieved 3 stars.
Thanks to the OCOP Program, many safe products have reached consumers. In particular, many products, when recognized as OCOP, have promoted the local economy. In Son Tay town, up to now, 78 products of 14 cooperatives, companies, and business households have been evaluated and classified as 3-star and 4-star OCOP products, belonging to the food, handicraft, and decoration industries. Among them, many traditional products have OCOP potential such as peanut candy and sesame candy of Duong Lam commune; dong vermicelli of Co Dong commune; fish cakes and chrysanthemum tea of Son Dong commune; honey of Kim Son commune... In Ba Vi district, up to now, 155 products have participated in the evaluation and classification of OCOP from 3 stars or higher. Outstanding OCOP products are fresh milk, dairy products, hill chicken, vegetables, sweet potatoes, vermicelli, ostrich meat, lotus seed ham... One thing that cannot be denied when looking at the OCOP Program is that in order for products to reach consumers, the sectors and members of the Steering Committee have had many activities to support Vietnamese goods, in which the most prominent is organizing activities on regional linkage and supporting the promotion, connecting supply and demand of goods between Hanoi and provinces and cities; introducing and connecting agricultural products, OCOP products, seasonal products, products with difficulties in consumption... of provinces and cities to distribution channels, supermarkets, food chains...; developing OCOP product introduction and sales points associated with craft village tourism, rural tourism in the City to districts, towns...; From there, it actively contributes to stimulating domestic consumption, facilitating production and business activities and the development of Vietnamese enterprises, contributing to promoting the development of the capital. These active promotional activities have also helped ensure the rights of consumers. Consumers have access to and use green, safe and affordable products. Talking about the work of connecting and promoting OCOP products to consumers in general and the supermarket system in particular, Mr. Nguyen The Hiep - Deputy Director
of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade - said that, closely following the actual situation, accompanying businesses, the Department of Industry and Trade has been promoting the extensive promotion of production areas and OCOP products of Hanoi and other provinces and cities on mass media; regularly reviewing the list of OCOP products that need to be connected to distribution channels and sending them to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion of the City. Hanoi provides information to businesses in the distribution system to organize connections and consumption according to demand. In addition, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade increases the application of information technology in the production and consumption of OCOP products such as implementing a traceability system, displaying, connecting on e-commerce trading floors... for OCOP products. Notably, on the side of distribution and retail businesses, there are also many policies to support businesses and manufacturers. Typically, Central Group, MM Mega Market, BRG... have actively implemented many programs to support the promotion and connection of OCOP products of Hanoi and localities to the distribution system of the unit in many forms such as: 0% discount for farmers; Organize OCOP product weeks, agricultural markets in distribution channels...
Increase the application of technology in the consumption of OCOP products. Although there are many advantages, frankly admit that currently, OCOP products and more broadly, Vietnamese products all have a common problem: quality, design and price are not attractive to consumers; the situation of counterfeit, poor quality, unsafe goods causes frustration and negatively affects people's lives, production and business activities in the country...

To make Vietnamese products more attractive to consumers, many opinions say that businesses and production facilities need to put the interests of consumers at the center. In particular, pay special attention to transparent information about the products. Mr. Nguyen The Hiep also recommends that businesses, supermarkets, and food chains need to sign long-term contracts to support the consumption of OCOP products for production units to ensure production quantity and quality. In addition, the subject of OCOP products themselves needs to invest in quality products and good services to accumulate the reputation of the seller, build a loyal customer base. The product portfolio needs to be diverse, rich, of good quality and traceable origin, and master e-commerce skills to increase direct interaction between producers and consumers, gradually affirming value and reputation in the market. On the side of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, Mr. Nguyen The Hiep said that he will guide OCOP product suppliers to introduce product lines that are suitable for the designs and tastes of consumers, and prioritize promoting connections with products with environmentally friendly packaging. In the long term, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade will continue to effectively organize trade promotion activities, trade conferences, fairs, exhibitions, and product weeks... for OCOP product manufacturers to introduce to consumers, connect to distribution channels, supermarkets, and food chains; invite news agencies and newspapers to promote on mass media. At the same time, continue to promote support for the development of commercial infrastructure, create fixed locations for selling and exchanging goods and
OCOP products to help businesses, cooperatives, and production households have a place to regularly exchange and buy and sell goods; develop OCOP product introduction and sales points throughout the city so that consumers can identify and prioritize them during the shopping process.
