This is a prestigious ASEAN regional award held annually since 2007 to honor businesses with outstanding achievements and contributions to the development of the region. Recently, within the framework of the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit adjacent to the 44th ASEAN Summit in Laos, Ho Chi Minh City Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank ( Sacombank ) was the only Vietnamese bank to be named by the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN BAC) at the ASEAN Business Awards 2024 (ABA 2024) - Digital Transformation field. ABA 2024 focuses on priority integration areas: Agriculture, Energy, Food & Beverage, Digital Transformation, Infrastructure, Tourism - Travel, Healthcare, Transportation & Logistics, Education... In particular, the Digital Transformation award is for businesses with strong digital transformation capabilities, bringing breakthrough changes in operations and customer experience. The award is a recognition of the long-term digital transformation roadmap that Sacombank has pursued since the early days to create a seamless and consistent digital journey for customers, solving all financial needs quickly and conveniently. Typically, Sacombank is always at the forefront of deploying modern, diverse and convenient products and services such as: Sacombank Pay digital banking application integrating all financial services; eKYC technology to open accounts/payment cards, non-physical credit cards within 5 seconds; Connect contactless payments with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, Garmin Pay; Scan QR payment, transfer money, withdraw money quickly domestically and in the markets of 3 countries Thailand, Korea, Cambodia. In order to enhance connection and customer experience, Sacombank has also put into operation a new generation Contact Center platform integrated with AI, operating multi-channel, 24/7 to ensure fast customer service; Put into operation smart transaction machines - STM and move towards establishing digital transaction points with the desire that customers can access the newest and most modern financial technologies. Promoting digitalization in business activities has created the appeal of the Sacombank brand. Currently, the Bank owns a customer base of nearly 19 million individuals and businesses, of which 67% are on digital channels. The number of transactions on Sacombank's digital channels has grown nearly 6 times since 2018, reaching 508 million transactions in 2023. In addition, Sacombank has also continuously digitized its operating system to improve labor productivity. Recently, the Bank has officially applied a digital business process platform to all 540 transaction points nationwide. This platform helps convert most manual operations to automation; reduce data errors; shorten transaction completion time by 60% and reduce operating costs.
