Russia destroys tanks, repels Ukraine's counterattack

The Russian Defense Ministry said Ukrainian forces lost two tanks and several Western-made artillery systems in the past 24 hours.

" The Northern Tactical Reconnaissance Group detected two Ukrainian armored fighting vehicles, which were being concealed by their crews in a forested area in the Kharkiv region ," the Russian Defense Ministry said. Immediately after the discovery, the Russian military deployed kamikaze UAVs, shooting down both targets.

The Russian Defense Ministry added that Ukraine had lost up to 50 servicemen in the Kharkiv region over the past 24 hours. Military officials in Moscow estimated that Kiev's total casualties on the entire frontline were nearly 1,700.

Russia also destroyed two tanks, including a French-made AMM-10 tank, and an armored personnel carrier in two different regions of the Donetsk People's Republic. Moscow's military also destroyed several Kiev artillery pieces, including a French-made CAESAR 155mm self-propelled gun, a British-made FH-70 155mm gun, a 155mm M198 gun, and a US-made 105mm M119 gun.

On October 8, Russian Tsentr fighters continued to take control of the village of Grodovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. At the same time, Russian Yug forces advanced deep into Ukrainian territory, repelling two counterattacks and killing up to 590 Kiev soldiers in 24 hours.

Ukrainian forces also lost more than 420 servicemen in clashes with Russia’s Tsentr battle group. Meanwhile, Russia’s Vostok battle group repelled another Ukrainian attack, with Kiev losing up to 120 soldiers in the clash.

IDF takes control of village in southern Lebanon

According to CNN, on October 9, Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen announced that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) took control of the village of Maroun Al-Ras in southern Lebanon.

" The brave members of the IDF took control of the village of Maroun al-Ras, destroying the facilities used by Hezbollah to launch rockets against the Israeli people. The Israeli army will pursue any sites used by our adversaries to threaten our people ," Cohen wrote.

Images released by Israeli media later showed IDF members raising the Israeli flag in a park south of Maroun Al-Ras.

Over the past 24 hours, the IDF and Hezbollah forces also clashed near the town of Naqoura, southern Lebanon. Hezbollah claimed to have repelled the Israeli army in this area at 5:00 a.m. (local time).

Ukraine destroys Russian weapons depot in Bryansk

Ukrainian forces attacked the 67th arsenal of the Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Defense Ministry in Bryansk on the night of October 8-9, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed: "During the night, units of the air reconnaissance forces, in coordination with a number of other forces, carried out an attack on the 67th arsenal of the Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Defense Ministry in Bryansk region."

The warehouse contained a large amount of ammunition, including guided bombs, the ministry said. Large explosions were reported in the area, forcing local authorities to close roads around the arsenal. The consequences of the attacks are still being determined by Ukraine.

Andrey Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD), said that the 67th arsenal of the Russian Missile and Artillery Department is located near the city of Karachev, Bryansk region, about 114 km from the Ukrainian border.

Currently, Russian officials have not commented on this information.

In a related development, the Russian Defense Ministry said that on the night of October 8 and early morning of October 9, Ukrainian forces attempted to carry out attacks using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against many targets on Russian territory.

Russia recaptures two villages in Kursk province

The Russian Defense Ministry announced the recapture of two villages in the border province of Kursk, where Ukrainian forces launched a surprise attack in early August.

The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on October 9 that its army continued to counterattack Ukraine and "liberated" the two villages of Novaya Sorochina and Pokrovsky in the border province of Kursk.

The village of Novaya Sorochina is located near the border with Ukraine, while Pokrovsky lies deeper inside Russian territory.

In mid-September, Russia announced it had regained control of 12 villages in Kursk Oblast. Shortly afterwards, a spokesman for the military administration that Ukraine had set up in the region said that a Russian counter-offensive to retake the territory had been “prevented.”

Military service age in Ukraine must be between 20-50 years old
