The beauty of the back beach of Mui Ne

Việt NamViệt Nam24/08/2023

What's truly fascinating about Mui Ne is that the sandy land jutting out into the sea has created two curved stretches of coastline resembling two beautiful bays, which locals call the front beach and the back beach. On days with strong waves and winds, ships sailing up and down the sea passing through this area have to stop at the cape to avoid natural disasters and storms. That's why this land has been called Mui Ne since ancient times.

From a pristine coastline with rolling pink sand dunes resembling a desert, far from major roads and sparsely populated with only a few poor fishing villages, Mui Ne has now grown into a destination with hundreds of high-end resorts, becoming one of the most attractive and picturesque eco -tourism destinations in Binh Thuan province. During the rainy season, hundreds of fishing boats anchor in the bay to avoid storms. On calm days, with clear blue water, numerous boats are anchored in the bay, and a bustling fish market of the local fishermen sits on the white sand.

The back beach (Hon Rom Bay) is quite tranquil, with gentle waves, clear blue water, and no underwater rocks, making it suitable for light recreational activities such as swimming, strolling, windsurfing , and bonfires at night. Since the total solar eclipse, Mui Ne's back beach has been completely transformed, with the opening of coastal roads attracting tourism investors to exploit the beauty of Hon Rom Bay.

From the back beach of Mui Ne, one can gaze into the distance and see a small island, which locals call "rocky island." There are no houses or inhabitants on the island. It's a desolate oasis, inhabited only by bushes, rocky cliffs, and flocks of seabirds. On the island is a shrine dedicated to the God of the South Sea, where many fishermen visit before heading out to sea to light incense and pray for peace and a bountiful catch. The rocky island is only about 1,000 meters from Hon Rom beach, so many adventurous travelers rent boats from locals to explore and admire the unique coral reefs around the small island. Higher up the back beach are the famous pink sand dunes of Mui Ne. The shape and color of the dunes constantly change with the wind, captivating visitors.

Mui Ne's Back Beach (Phan Thiet) boasts many stunning natural landscapes. With tourist areas located right on the beach, many travelers can experience the local life of pulling nets and basket boats ashore early in the morning as the sun rises, removing small fish from the nets. The activities of the fishermen, combined with the beautiful natural scenery of Mui Ne's Back Beach at dawn, create a breathtaking "ink painting" on the sea.
