Over the years, all levels, sectors and localities in the province have always identified the work of receiving citizens and resolving complaints and denunciations as important tasks and have implemented them seriously and effectively. Gradually creating people's trust in the authorities at all levels, contributing to maintaining political security and order in the locality.
In Lam Thao district, the work of receiving citizens and resolving petitions under the authority continues to be focused on, directed, and effectively implemented by all levels and sectors, contributing to maintaining political stability, social order and safety, and creating a favorable environment for socio-economic development in the area. The work of receiving citizens periodically and regularly is maintained and ensured. At the same time, attention is paid to dialogue, explanation, and direct resolution of citizens' recommendations and reflections. Many cases are resolved right at the citizen reception, preventing hot spots from arising (the rate of direct explanation and resolution reached 37.37%).

In addition, the district also focuses on promoting propaganda, dissemination, legal education, mediation at the grassroots level and implementing well the information reporting regime on citizen reception and petition handling. The district inspectorate coordinates with the Citizen Reception Committee and agencies, units and localities to advise the district People's Committee to resolve petitions under its authority, ensuring the correct order, procedures, content and time limit according to regulations. Many cases have been thoroughly and satisfactorily resolved by competent authorities in response to citizens' petitions and requests.
In the first 6 months of the year, the total number of citizens received: 278 (down 7.19% compared to the same period), the total number of citizen reception cases was 297 (down 17 cases, a decrease of 5.41% compared to the same period). Of which, 186 cases were received for the first time; 111 cases were received multiple times; the results of citizen reception by the head were 178 times, 194 cases; 100 authorized receptions, 103 cases...
Comrade Ngo Duc Sau - Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee said: In the last 6 months of the year, the work of compensation and site clearance in the district continues to be promoted, so it is forecasted that the number of petitions may increase slightly compared to the same period. In order to effectively carry out the work of receiving citizens, receiving and resolving petitions; the District People's Committee continues to proactively and promptly handle and resolve complaints and denunciations, especially crowded and complicated cases; monitor and grasp the situation to resolve them as soon as they arise, not allowing "hot spots" to occur.
Currently, the work of receiving citizens and resolving complaints and denunciations is being focused on by Party committees and authorities at all levels in the province to effectively lead and direct implementation. In 2023, when the pandemic is under control and all activities return to normal, the situation of complaints and denunciations tends to increase again, especially the number of complaints and denunciations increased sharply compared to the same period (up 54%).
The content of complaints, denunciations, recommendations and reflections from citizens are mainly related to the following areas: Revocation and compensation for land use rights to implement projects; request for granting land use right certificates, changing land use purposes; implementation of administrative procedures on land; disputes over land use rights; implementation of regimes and policies...
From January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2023, the provincial administrative agencies received a total of 19,399 citizens coming to make complaints, denunciations, recommendations, and reflections, of which 15,105 were received for the first time, 4,294 were received multiple times, and 62 were large groups (related to 38 cases). In 2023, the number of citizen receptions increased significantly compared to previous years (an increase of 976, an increase of 15.8% over the same period in 2022). |

In the coming time, Party committees and authorities at all levels need to continue to enhance their responsibilities, especially the roles and responsibilities of heads of departments and branches in citizen reception and complaint and denunciation settlement under their authority. Focus on resolving people's difficulties and concerns right at the grassroots level; continue to promote the effectiveness of mass mobilization work in citizen reception, complaint and denunciation settlement, recommendations and reflection to create consensus.
With the drastic participation of all levels and sectors, many cases have been resolved promptly, objectively and in accordance with the law. Through the settlement of complaints and denunciations, many violations, shortcomings, problems and limitations in the implementation of state management in various fields have been exposed for timely correction, handling and experience drawing.
