On the morning of January 10, in Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province, Naval Region 5 held a Technical Work Conference for 2024. Rear Admiral Nguyen Duy Ty, Commander of the Region attended and directed. Also attending was Rear Admiral Nguyen Huu Thoan, Political Commissar of the Region.
In 2023, the technical sector of Naval Region 5 closely followed the task situation, ensuring adequate, timely, and synchronous quantity and quality of ships, vehicles, weapons, and equipment for training, exercises, combat readiness, and other activities of the Region; closely coordinated and cooperated with agencies and units to collect, transfer, receive, train, and put into use technical equipment in accordance with regulations, ensuring absolute safety.
The region has effectively applied information technology and military science and technology in professional management and technical assurance; maintained and performed well the work of sealing, preserving and maintaining weapons and equipment; proactively inspected, reviewed and repaired damaged technical equipment according to decentralization. In particular, many difficult items with high technology content have been surveyed and repaired, saving the unit more than 1.5 billion VND.
At the conference, delegates discussed and clarified the outstanding results achieved, and proposed many solutions to improve the quality and efficiency of technical work at the unit in the coming time.
Speaking at the conference, Rear Admiral Nguyen Duy Ty acknowledged and commended the technical work results in 2023 of the agencies and units. The Commander of the Region requested Party committees, commanders, and technical agencies at all levels to continue to thoroughly grasp and implement technical work closely with the situation, task requirements, and organization of the unit.
