The competition for political instructors of the Army Academy had 20 contestants participating, divided into two groups. Group 1 included political commissars of student management systems (1, 2, 3, 4), political commissars of Group 198, Training - Field Trip Center. Group 2 included department-level assistants (Politics, Office, Training, Logistics - Engineering), assistants of student management systems, political commissars, deputy political commissars of training assurance centers, deputy political commissars of guard companies, and political commissars of transport companies.
Participating in the contest, each contestant will take three exams, including: Preparing a lecture (including a paper lecture and an electronic lecture), knowledge test and teaching practice, combined with handling pedagogical situations during the lecture. This year, to improve the quality of practice and aim to build a smart school, the organizers require contestants in the practical exam to use a projector, combine the use of documents, diagrams, models, drawings, tapes, documentaries... related to the lecture content and apply appropriate teaching methods.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, Major General Dau Van Nam, Deputy Commissar of the Army Academy, emphasized: “Through the contest, we aim to assess the actual capacity of the political teaching staff at the academy, as a basis for proposing policies and measures to improve the qualifications, skills and methods of the political teaching staff of affiliated agencies and units, practically contributing to innovation and improving the quality and effectiveness of political education work at the Army Academy in the new period. At the same time, through the contest, we will discover cadres who are exemplary in terms of qualities, capacity and have good methods, styles and skills in political teaching to propagate and spread advanced examples.”
Major General Dau Van Nam also affirmed that the contest is an opportunity for political cadres to exchange and learn from each other's experiences. Candidates should consider the contest as an opportunity to self-evaluate their own level and capacity. Therefore, each candidate must uphold the spirit of solidarity, learning, confidently apply knowledge flexibly and creatively, combine traditional and modern teaching methods, and strive to achieve high results.
Participating in the contest for the second time, Major Dang Quoc Bac, Political Commissar of the Training and Field Trip Center, Army Academy, expressed: “The contest is an environment for us to accumulate more knowledge, to be comprehensively trained in skills, methods, and pedagogical style in political teaching. With the characteristics of the Training and Field Trip Center, I chose the topic of teaching practice to promote the exemplary role of cadres and party members in the fight against individualism at the grassroots level. This is a good and practical topic today, contributing to promoting the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers in all tasks, building a strong collective. I hope that through the contest, I will learn more solutions and good practices in political teaching from other units.”
As planned, the 2023 Political Teaching Cadre Competition of the Army Academy will close on May 26. The Academy will select high-achieving candidates to form a team to participate in the military-level competition.
