Digital transformation in administrative work: Saving time and effort

In Vi Thang commune, one of the leading communes in digital transformation in Vi Thuy district, people are gradually becoming familiar with the conveniences that digital technology brings. The model of "Publicizing the phone number for consultation and support for citizens in performing administrative procedures and online public services 24/7" has been deployed since the beginning of 2024 and has received high consensus from the people. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien, a resident of Vi Thang commune, shared: "Now I just need to call this phone number, all administrative procedures are resolved quickly. I don't need to go to the People's Committee many times anymore."

To achieve this result, Vi Thang commune has implemented synchronous solutions: guiding people to submit documents online through the public service portal, actively supporting people to install and use level 2 electronic identification accounts. Up to now, nearly 100% of administrative procedures in Vi Thang commune can be resolved through the online system. As of early 2024, the commune has processed nearly 500 online documents, showing the clear effectiveness of the digital transformation model in reducing the workload for officials and saving time and effort for people.

Not only in the administrative field, digital transformation also helps Vi Thuy district develop the digital economy and digital society. In fact, many local people have become familiar with using e-wallets and cashless payments. Every week, the locality coordinates with Viettel Hau Giang to organize training sessions and install e-wallets for people. To date, about 60% of households in Vi Thang commune have e-wallets and can make online payment transactions.

Vi Thuy District has also launched "Market 4.0", an e-commerce platform for small traders and business households. Small traders here can easily transact and make cashless payments, helping to reduce problems related to direct payments, while improving transparency in transactions.

To date, nearly 13,000 households in Vi Thuy district have installed Mobile Money or Internet Banking applications. This rate reaches more than 50% of the total number of households in the area, showing the strong spread of technology in the community.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Thong, Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Vi Thuy district, said that digital transformation has been creating remarkable changes, not only in state management but also in all aspects of social life. However, he also stated that to achieve the goal of comprehensive digital transformation, the active participation of people and businesses is needed. Up to now, the satisfaction rate of people with online public administrative services in Vi Thuy district has reached over 90%.

Vi Thuy district is continuing to implement solutions to expand the application of technology in areas such as healthcare, education, and agricultural production. Policies to support digital transformation for businesses and small businesses will be a focus in 2024. Mr. Thong added: "We will continue to strengthen information and communication work, so that people are more aware of the role of digital transformation in improving their quality of life."
