Hai Phong male student makes spectacular comeback to win Olympia laurel wreath

The January competition, quarter 4 of the 23rd Road to Olympia took place on July 30, witnessing the dramatic competition of 4 contestants: Nguyen Trong Thanh (Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, Hai Phong), Le Thai An (Hanoi High School for the Gifted, Amsterdam - Hanoi), Tran Quang Minh (Luong The Vinh High School, Quang Binh), Dang Nhat Hung Vo (Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted, Hanoi).

4 contestants compete in the January round, 4th quarter of the 23rd Road to Olympia taking place on July 30.

Entering the first round - Warm-up, all 4 contestants continuously won the right to answer and scored the first points. After 3 rounds of questions, Hung Vo temporarily led the mountain climbing team with 60 points, followed by Trong Thanh with 55 points, Thai An with 45 points, Quang Minh with 15 points.

The keyword to be searched for in this Obstacle Course consists of 7 letters. The first horizontal line has the question: “According to Marxist-Leninist philosophy, a change in quantity to a certain level will lead to a change in what?”. With the answer being “Quality”, all 4 contestants got an additional 10 points.

As soon as the answer to the first question was revealed, Trong Thanh quickly rang the bell to claim the right to answer the keyword. The male student gave the incorrect answer "Nuclear" and lost the right to play the next questions.

Immediately after that, Quang Minh pressed the bell to answer with the answer "Radioactivity". The entire studio of Road to Olympia was shocked when the MC announced the correct answer and awarded points to Quang Minh.

Thus, after the first two rounds, Quang Minh took the lead with 75 points, Hung Vo had a total of 70 points. Meanwhile, Trong Thanh had 65 points and Thai An had 55 points.

Entering the Acceleration round, Trong Thanh had the most outstanding comeback when he answered all 4 questions correctly, including 3 super fast answers to get an additional 140 points. Thai An also answered all 4 questions correctly to get an additional 80 points.

At the end of this round, Trong Thanh took the lead with 205 points, followed by Hung Vo with 150 points, Quang Minh with 145 points and Thai An with 135 points.

In the Finish Line round, Trong Thanh chose 3 questions worth 30 - 20 - 20 points. Answering 1 of the 3 questions correctly, Trong Thanh got 20 more points and finished with 225 points.

Hung Vo finished with a question package of 20 - 30 - 20 points. Excellently answering three questions correctly including the "difficult" Physics practice question, Hung Vo excellently won 220 points.

Quang Minh chose 3 questions worth 20 - 20 - 30 points and the star of hope was in the last question. Taking advantage of his good grades, Quang Minh answered the first two questions correctly in a row, earning 185 points.

By the third question, Quang Minh could not answer the question and was deducted 150 points. Trong Thanh won the right to answer this question to get 30 more points, firmly consolidating his leading position.

Thai An chose 3 questions worth 30 points and answered 2 questions correctly. Because of the star of hope, Thai An's score increased significantly. The male student rose to second place in the mountain climbing team.

In the end, Nguyen Trong Thanh (Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, Hai Phong) won the laurel wreath of the January competition, the 4th quarter of the 23rd Road to Olympia with 255 points. Second place was Le Thai An with 225 points. Third place was Dang Nhat Hung Vo with 220 points and Tran Quang Minh with 155 points.
