The National Tourism Year and Hue Festival 2025 are affirmed by industry leaders to have great significance, creating many values ​​to promote Hue tourism, being an opportunity to communicate, promote Hue's image and increase the number of visitors, creating momentum for strong tourism development.

“Through the National Tourism Year, Hue must have new tourism products, new flight routes, new tourist markets… To achieve effectiveness, the organization of the National Tourism Year must be carefully and thoroughly prepared. Art programs are not just performances, a collection of performances, but must tell the story of a land rich in culture, with its own identity through art,” emphasized Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong.

New opportunities for the ancient capital

National Tourism Year 2025 has the theme "Hue - Ancient Capital, New Opportunities" with activities and events focusing on 4 main program groups: Spring Festival "Spring of the Ancient Capital" (from January to April); Summer Festival "Shining Imperial City" (April to June); Autumn Festival "Hue in Autumn" (July to September); Winter Festival "Winter of Hue" (October to December).

According to the report from the representative of the Department of Tourism and the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, the Hue City People's Committee is urgently completing the content of the script, stage, reception - logistics, guest preparation stages and promoting communication and promotion of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025.

This year's National Tourism Year has 170 activities, including 8 activities organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; 46 activities organized by Thua Thien Hue province on an inter-provincial, national and international scale taking place throughout 2025, along with 102 cultural, sports and tourism events and activities in response to the National Tourism Year 2025 organized by 29 provinces and centrally-run cities...

In the coming time, the locality will focus on the Opening Ceremony, scheduled to take place on March 25 on the banks of the Perfume River, in the area of ​​the National Academy of Sciences with a semi-realistic stage on the water and on the shore. The ceremony will be broadcast live on VTV1 - Vietnam Television.

The locality also prepares local support activities within the framework of the National Tourism Year 2025, including: Cultural - Tourism Festival and Program to introduce tourism, cuisine, Vietnamese craft villages, connecting businesses on the occasion of the National Tourism Year - Hue in the European market; International conference on cultural industries - the foundation for sustainable tourism development and sideline activities.

With a series of activities and events organized during the National Tourism Year and Hue Festival in 2025, Hue expects to attract about 4.8 - 5 million tourists, of which international visitors account for about 38-40% of total visitors; total revenue from tourism reaches about 10,800 - 11,200 billion VND. At the same time, creating a breakthrough for Hue tourism in 2025, ready to develop strongly on the foundation of the Ancient Capital with a new opportunity in a new era of the country.

Nguyen Thanh Binh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee, said that the locality has made thorough preparations. The script for the opening ceremony has been heavily invested in, trying to express the cultural soul of the ancient capital.

Deputy Minister Ho An Phong suggested that the organizing committee should transfer the brand identity into communication products; take advantage of the opportunity of National Tourism Year 2025 to connect businesses and develop tourism; relevant units coordinate with the People's Committee of Hue City, departments and branches to prepare and successfully organize events, programs and activities of National Tourism Year 2025.

National Tourism Year and Hue Festival 2025 are typical cultural - economic - social and tourism events of national and international scale associated with the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Hue city (March 26, 1975 - March 26, 2025) and other major holidays and anniversaries of the whole country; responding to and welcoming Hue to become a city directly under the Central Government.

The highlight of this year's Hue Festival is the novelty of many programs created by modern lighting technology, highlighting the space of Hue Royal Palace at night, creating a grand and magical atmosphere.
