Nam Dan: Building a model new rural district in the direction of cultural development associated with tourism

A working delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development led by Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam visited Nam Dan district to evaluate the results of implementing Decision No. 17 of the Prime Minister on "piloting Nam Dan district, Nghe An province to become a model new rural district in the direction of cultural development associated with tourism in the period of 2028 - 2025". Implementing Decision No. 17 of the Prime Minister, Nam Dan district has achieved many impressive results in building new rural areas (NTM). Up to now, the district has 15 advanced NTM communes, accounting for 83.3%, of which 7 communes meet the model NTM standards. Nam Dan is the leading district in Nghe An province in terms of the number of OCOP products with 81 typical products.

Over the past 6 years, Nam Dan has mobilized more than 3,278 billion VND to build the new rural area. Of which, people contributed nearly 298 billion VND, donated 42,368m² of land, dismantled 28,980m² of fences and participated in more than 61,000 working days.

Community tourism and rural experience models such as Dap Cua Ong Farmstay, Thung Pheo Hill Garden, Eo Gio Ecological Experience have also been formed, creating highlights for the sustainable tourism development of the district.
