What is the ranking method?
According to QS, to be ranked, MBA programs must be taught on campus, full-time, and have a class size of at least 15 students. Schools will be evaluated based on 13 criteria, divided into five main indicators: employability (accounting for 40% of the weight), entrepreneurship and alumni outcomes (15%), return on investment (20%), leadership thinking (15%), and diversity of nationality, gender, etc. of students and lecturers (10%).
According to QS, the data used for the rankings is collected through three surveys, one with global employers, one with academics and one with information provided by the universities. "The rankings provide useful information for those who want to develop a career in global business," said Nunzio Quacquarelli, President of QS, in a statement.
According to a report published in 2024, although MBA degrees are still very popular, more and more students are considering other options such as professional degrees, master's degrees or other career development options before pursuing an MBA, according to The PIE News .
QS is one of the most prestigious, experienced and influential university ranking organizations in the world, along with the rankings of Times Higher Education (UK) and Shanghai Ranking Consultancy (China). This organization has ranked universities since 2004 with Times Higher Education, 1 year after the world first had a global university ranking published by Shanghai Jiao Tong University (later Shanghai Ranking Consultancy).
