In 2024, Quang Nam will assign 4,998 commune-level officials and civil servants.

(QNO) - The Provincial People's Council has just issued Resolution No. 68 assigning the number of cadres, civil servants and non-professional workers at the commune level to 18 districts, towns and cities in 2024 with a total of 8,038 people (replacing Resolution No. 50 dated December 8, 2023 of the Provincial People's Council).

Of which, the number of commune-level cadres and civil servants is 4,998 people (including those receiving pensions or disability benefits elected to hold commune-level cadre positions and cadres and civil servants transferred, mobilized, or seconded to the commune level); the number of non-professional workers at the commune level is 3,040 people.

Thus, compared with Resolution No. 50, the number of commune-level cadres and civil servants increased by 6 people and the number of non-professional workers at the commune level increased by 6 people.

The reason for the increase, according to the Provincial People's Committee, is that 3 commune-level administrative units were reclassified and upgraded from type II to type I, including: Dien Minh ward (Dien Ban town), Tam My Tay commune and Tam Anh Nam commune (Nui Thanh district).

Also according to the explanation of the Provincial People's Committee to the Provincial People's Council, in 2024, the district and commune-level administrative units of the province are in the process of being reorganized according to Conclusion No. 48 dated January 30, 2023 of the Politburo and Resolution No. 35 of the National Assembly Standing Committee.

Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee submitted to the Provincial People's Council a decision to assign the number of cadres, civil servants and part-time workers at the commune level to each district-level administrative unit in 2024 according to the classification of administrative units; not including the assignment of additional number of civil servants and part-time workers at the commune level according to specific factors.

The above-mentioned quantity is intended to ensure stability in the arrangement and placement and facilitate the settlement of surplus cadres, civil servants and non-professional workers at the commune level after the arrangement of administrative units.

After the competent authority issues the Resolution on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units in Quang Nam province, the Provincial People's Committee will submit to the Provincial People's Council the assignment of the number of cadres, civil servants and administrative units at the commune level for each district-level administrative unit in accordance with the provisions of Decree No. 33 of the Government.
