On the last night of the movie "Timekeeper" showing in theaters, singer My Tam revealed that all profits from the movie will be used for charity.

According to information from singer My Tam, the documentary The Keeper of Time will officially stop showing after April 16 (the film premiered on April 8). Thus, this work will only be in theaters for exactly 9 days.

According to statistics from The Box Office Vietnam - an independent monitoring unit - on the evening of April 16, The Time Keeper had a revenue of more than 12 billion VND. Although compared to other movies shown in theaters, this revenue is not significant, but compared to the genre of documentaries about artists, the number of 12 billion VND and more than 140,000 moviegoers is not small.

Notably, when interacting with the audience at the theater on the evening of April 16, My Tam said she would use all profits from the movie Time Keeper for charity purposes.

My Tam confided: "Since I started making this film, I planned to use the profits from the film for charity, to help poor, studious children. However, at first I did not say it because I was afraid of not being objective, afraid that people would think that I was announcing it to get the audience to go see the film. This film is like my gratitude to my audience. I am very grateful for the love and time that everyone has given me."

The Time Keeper is a documentary that records the process of singer My Tam and her crew preparing for two Tri Am shows in Ho Chi Minh City (April 2021) and Hanoi (November 2022). The film also brings My Tam's feelings about her career journey and her appreciation and gratitude for the love that fans have given her for 20 years.

In a recent conversation with Dan Tri reporter, critic Nguyen Phong Viet said that according to him, the business story was not the decisive factor for My Tam to decide to make this product. Besides, the expert also evaluated Nguoi te thoi gian as the best documentary and music film about artists in Vietnam so far.

"This film is not only the backstage of a show but also where we see the "joys - anger - love - hate" of an artist who has been on stage for more than 20 years. More importantly, this film is also a motivation for creators in particular and the public in general when they hear about an artist's 20-year career journey," Nguyen Phong Viet commented.

As for My Tam, she once shared that there are many things in life that cannot be retrieved, but through music, the female singer wants to be the keeper of priceless moments of time. That is also the reason why she chose the name Time Keeper for her documentary.

In addition, My Tam also said that she and her crew carefully selected the images that could be included in the documentary because they did not want to "cause discomfort to the audience". Although the film lacked some materials that the singer "could not arrange", she believed that Timekeeper brought back stories that were attractive to the audience.

My Tam was born in 1981 in Da Nang. She started her singing career in the early 2000s and became a leading name in the Vietnamese music industry. During her career, My Tam won many domestic and international awards and had many hits that resonated with generations of audiences.

At the age of 42, the "brown-haired nightingale" still maintains her position as an A-list star, loved by a large audience for many years. My Tam's most recent hit is Promise from Nothingness, released in March 2022.
