MV "June Rain" suspected of plagiarizing Jay Chou's music, what did Van Mai Huong say?

On the evening of May 24, singer Van Mai Huong released a new MV called "June Rain". The product continues to mark the collaboration between the female singer and musician Hua Kim Tuyen after the success of the album "Huong".

The MV was inspired by the films of famous director Wong Kar-wai of the 1990s. Korean model Lim Ji-hyuk plays the role of Van Mai Huong's boyfriend. Currently, the MV "June Rain" has reached more than 193,000 views after 13 hours of release.

In another development, the MV was suspected of plagiarism when many viewers discovered that the work had similarities with the famous song "Nocturne" by Jay Chou.

Musician Hua Kim Tuyen admitted that since the demo version was released, the song "June Rain" has been criticized as "similar to many other songs".

“The songs “Nocturne” and “June Rain” only have a feeling of “slightly” moving towards the harmony circle. The two songs have different melodies, different tempos, different keys, different melodies and different developments. The two songs have no connection other than the common denominator of the harmony circle.

In technical terms, the harmony cycle is 6-3-4-1-2-5-1, 6-3-4-1-2-5-6, which is a very common harmony, creating a similar melody feeling. So when everyone listens, they will feel it is the same.

As for Van Mai Huong, she also affirmed that she feels very secure when working with Hua Kim Tuyen.

"Tuyền is like a music police. I will be the first to know about any music scandals or plagiarism.

Tuyen is not a professional singer, but you know every song by heart. You only need a few notes to know which song it is. When working with Tuyen, I feel secure about whether you plagiarize or not," the 9x singer expressed.
