Hanoi After getting a nose job, a 35-year-old woman was not satisfied so she had it fixed 9 times, resulting in a concave, deformed, and infected nose.
On June 23, Dr. Tong Thanh Hai, Head of the Department of Microsurgery and Reconstruction, Center for Plastic Surgery and Reconstruction, National Burn Hospital, said that the patient's nasal skin was stiff, the nasal septum was perforated and the mucosa was thin, causing difficulty breathing. Inside, there was a lot of fiber due to multiple dissection surgeries.
10 years ago, she felt her nose was flat so she had her first rhinoplasty. Since then, she was not satisfied and wanted to change the shape of her nose to be higher, having it repaired 9 times, 5 of which were done at a spa without medical expertise. After the surgery, her nose did not become more beautiful but became infected, had complications, was painful, and lost its aesthetic appeal, and could not return to its original shape.

Dr. Hai diagnosed the patient with a nasal deformity due to tissue dissection in the nasal cavity in the wrong layer, using inappropriate augmentation materials leading to loss of the main septal cartilage. The surgeon at the spa was not qualified when treating the patient, causing damage to the alar cartilage, causing the alar to collapse, then inserting silicone even though this procedure is usually contraindicated.
The patient asked the doctor to fix his nose again, but had to wait 9 months before surgery to avoid the inflammation recurring like the previous times.
Doctors recommend that people who intend to have a nose job should carefully study the technical process and perform it at reputable medical facilities. If inflammation occurs after a nose job or too many revisions, it can cause many complications and is not good for the recovery process, so treatment should be done at a specialized hospital.
