At Ba Den Mountain, Vu Lan season takes place throughout the 7th lunar month, with the main ceremony held on August 24-25 (July 21-22 of the lunar calendar). For the upcoming Vu Lan season, many meaningful cultural and spiritual activities and experiences will be held for visitors to Ba Den Mountain such as Buddhist art performances, participating in a talk with monks about filial piety, or attending the flower pinning ceremony - an extremely sacred ceremony to remember and pray for peace for parents. Especially on Saturday evening, August 24, 2024 (July 21 of the lunar calendar), visitors will participate in the sacred lantern offering ceremony to express gratitude and pray for peace for parents in the meaningful Vu Lan season. At Ba Den Mountain, the lantern offering ceremony has become a very familiar ritual on Saturday evenings and bears the unique mark of the sacred mountain. Every lantern offering ceremony, Ba Den Mountain attracts thousands of locals and tourists from all over to come and write their wishes to Buddha and release lanterns in the large square amidst the sacred and magical space.

Visiting Ba Den Mountain at night is also an extremely interesting experience when the highest mountain in the South is immersed in a magical shimmering beauty under the lighting system designed by Architect Shin Takamatsu - who was awarded the highest award of the Japanese Association of Architects. There are more than 3,500 LED lights installed on the top of the mountain, and a "giant" LED screen made of 29 pieces and more than 480 floor lights, creating beautiful and peaceful Buddhist symbols such as the swastika or lotus. In the evening, around the area of the world's largest sandstone statue of Maitreya Bodhisattva, visitors will go through a completely different range of meditative emotions when watching the water music show, an artistic combination of music, light, laser and water. Laser drawing machine, 3D projector, laser block making machine, hundreds of spray nozzles, solenoid valves, thousands of lights..., all are perfectly combined, creating a magical halo radiating from Maitreya Buddha, a night experience full of Buddhist cultural colors on top of Ba Den mountain.

Also in August, the tourist area continues its preferential policy for students with a cable car ticket combo to the Pagoda and the mountain peak for only 300,000 VND, and a cable car ticket combo to the Pagoda peak with a buffet at Nam Chau restaurant for only 500,000 VND.
