Heavy rain that has lasted since early this morning, November 4, has caused many streets in Dong Ha City to be deeply flooded. In many places, the water was nearly half a meter deep, paralyzing traffic.

At the intersection of Le The Hieu Street and Hung Vuong Street, the water flooded very quickly and entered some houses, leaving people unable to react. The water reached the intersection of Hung Vuong Street. The flooding happened right at the time of going to work and taking children to school, so many vehicles were stuck and stalled, including cars that had to be rescued by a tow truck.

At around 8am, the deeply flooded area on Le The Hieu Street was cleared after an excavator came to destroy the drainage culvert under construction.

According to the investigation, the cause of the deep flooding in this area was due to the drainage system being blocked because it was under construction. A worker working here said that the drainage system was under construction, the concrete had not been poured yet, but it rained so hard that it could not drain in time, causing flooding. The construction unit sent an excavator to break up part of the concrete to promptly resolve the flooding situation.

In some other areas in Dong Ha City, deep flooding and traffic paralysis also occurred. For example, on Dang Dung Street, from the intersection with Ngo Sy Lien, the water was nearly half a meter deep, forcing motorbikes to turn around and only a few large trucks dared to pass.

Low-lying areas such as Ngo Sy Lien, Phan Huy Chu, Ton That Thuyet... also recorded many flooded sections, causing difficulties for people to travel.

Heavy rain concentrated in a short period of time can cause localized flooding in low-lying areas, areas with poor drainage in urban areas, and it is necessary to be on guard against flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas and along rivers.
