The Khen Mong, a traditional musical instrument, has long been present in the cultural life of the Mong community here. Every time the Khen sounds, it is not only music but also the thoughts, feelings and stories of the people conveyed through each note. In 2023, the Khen Mong Art will become a National Intangible Cultural Heritage, a source of pride for the Mong community and the people of Yen Bai.

Along with the Mong panpipe, the To Day flower is also a symbol of Mu Cang Chai in particular, and of the Northwest culture in general. Late winter to early spring is the time when the To Day flower blooms. This flower attracts tourists not only because of its pure beauty but also because of its many cultural meanings. For the Mong people, the To Day flower is a symbol of life, prosperity and happiness. The combination of Festival and Ceremony creates a vibrant, vibrant festival atmosphere. The sound of the Mong panpipe blends with the white color of the To Day flower to create a unique cultural journey, where music and nature meet.

In the Khen Mong Festival, the artists both perform traditional melodies and introduce innovations in music, helping this cultural heritage to continuously develop. Mr. Trinh The Binh - Head of the District's Department of Culture and Information said: "This year is the third year the district has organized a combination of Festival and Festival to create a series of cultural activities to promote tourism development as well as create a sustainable tourism development link between localities in the province and the Northwest region, forming a tourism product supply chain. At the same time, it creates momentum and motivation to implement the project to build Mu Cang Chai into a tourist district, a destination of "Identity, safety, friendliness".

Festivals and Ceremonies help people here honor their culture and are an opportunity to connect the community. People from remote villages gather together, share joy and love for the national culture. The young generation - the inheritors of the culture - have the opportunity to participate and learn from experienced artisans.

What is special is the participation of tourists, who come from all over the country and abroad. Mr. Thao A Su, a Mong panpipe artist, said: "The festival gives me the opportunity to perform and preserve and spread the culture of the nation. When the panpipe sounds, I feel proud of the national cultural identity."

Mr. John Smith, a tourist from the US, shared: "I was really impressed with the harmony between music and nature. I like the way the locals express their culture. The food is also very delicious and unique!"

Festivals and Ceremonies have a strong attraction thanks to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values combined with preserving the beautiful nature of Mu Cang Chai. However, to preserve and develop culture, there must be continuous efforts in educating and raising awareness of young people about the value of cultural heritage. Authorities also need to create favorable conditions for the development of Festivals while protecting the environment and developing sustainable tourism. At that time, Festivals and Ceremonies will not only be cultural events but also a source of inspiration for future generations.

Mr. Trinh The Binh - Head of the District Department of Culture and Information said: "From 2022 to now, local Party committees and authorities have mobilized to plant over 84,000 thick flower trees. The district's cultural sector has an annual plan to preserve indigenous cultural values, including the Mong panpipe, and promote teaching."

The Khen Mong Festival and the Hoa To Day Festival in the highlands of Mu Cang Chai are a unique cultural journey where music and nature blend together, contributing to preserving precious cultural heritage while creating sustainable values for the future.
