Vietnam Fatherland Front spends more than 1 billion VND to visit and encourage doctors and cancer patients

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front organized delegations to visit and present gifts to cancer patients with 800 gifts, totaling 1.04 billion VND.

On January 25, Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien and the Central Working Delegation visited and encouraged doctors and gave gifts to cancer patients being treated at K Hospital, Tan Trieu facility, Thanh Tri district, Hanoi city. Also attending was Ms. Dao Hong Lan, Party Central Committee member, Minister of Health.

Here, Mr. Do Van Chien said that in order to share with those in difficult circumstances, ensuring that everyone and every family has Tet, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front organized delegations to visit and give gifts to cancer patients in especially difficult circumstances being treated at 4 hospitals: Central K Hospital, Nghe An Oncology Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital, Can Tho City Oncology Hospital with 800 gifts, total value of 1.04 billion VND.

Accordingly, Mr. Do Van Chien personally came to give gifts, send greetings, and New Year wishes to patients being treated at hospitals; encourage patients to feel secure in their treatment so that they can quickly recover and return to their families. He said that in the coming time, the Central Fund for the Poor will have new approaches to provide the most practical forms of support for cancer patients in difficult circumstances across the country. The Vietnam Fatherland Front will wholeheartedly accompany, support, and help cancer patients in difficult circumstances so that they have more motivation to overcome the disease.

On this occasion, Mr. Do Van Chien also shared the difficulties and hardships of the team of doctors and nurses on duty during the Lunar New Year, when they still devoted themselves every day, every hour to treating and encouraging patients mentally to help them overcome both physical and mental difficulties, especially when the New Year is approaching.

According to Mr. Do Van Chien, the Politburo recently issued Resolution 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation. This will be the basis for providing more resources for the health sector to continue promoting research and transfer of science and technology to provide examination, treatment and care services for cancer patients as well as training and transfer of high technology in oncology in Vietnam today.

On behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Health, Minister Dao Hong Lan respectfully thanked the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for his affection, attention, visit and encouragement to patients and medical staff at K Hospital, Tan Trieu facility (Thanh Tri, Hanoi) during their duties and on duty during the Lunar New Year.

Dr. Le Van Quang, Director of K Hospital, said that with the attention of the leaders of the Party, State and Government, K Hospital has invested resources to purchase machinery and equipment to better serve medical examination and treatment. In 2024, K Hospital will continue to affirm its position and role as the leading specialized hospital in the country, a prestigious address domestically and internationally in cancer prevention and control. Last year, the average score of the hospital's quality criteria reached 4.15 points. The satisfaction rate of inpatients was 95.7%.

In addition to the task of taking care of people's health, in 2024, the Hospital connected and mobilized units to support more than 23 billion VND to give gifts to poor cancer patients. On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, patients staying at K Hospital for treatment all received gifts, lucky money, cakes, milk and an additional support of 100,000 VND/person/day. In addition, patients from poor and near-poor households, ethnic minorities, and people with revolutionary contributions were supported with free meals according to the program the Hospital is implementing.
