"Pride" are the two words shared by Professor Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai, Principal of Gifted High School, Ho Chi Minh City National University, at the school year-end ceremony on the morning of May 20.
According to Professor Thanh Mai, the school is proud of its overall academic achievements when out of a total of 1,908 students, 1,880 students are classified as Excellent/Good (98.51%), no students are classified as Average; 1,905 students have training results at the Good level (99.84%). In the 2023-2024 school year, the school achieved high results in many academic and sports arenas at home and abroad.

For this year's National High School Excellent Student Competition, the Gifted High School has a total of 58 students winning prizes, including: 3 First prizes, 13 Second prizes, 22 Third prizes and 20 Encouragement prizes. Nguyen Hong Anh, a 10th grade student, won first prize in literature with the highest score nationwide.
In addition, 2 groups of students from the school won 1 Second Prize and 1 Third Prize in the National Science and Technology Competition for high school students.
The school has 5 students summoned to attend the second round of the national high school excellent student selection exam to select a team representing Vietnam to compete in regional and international Olympic competitions.
For city-level competitions, the school's students also brought home 44 prizes in the City-level Excellent Student Competition (grade 12). Grade 10 and 11 students participating in the Traditional Olympic Competition on April 30 won 42 medals, including 25 Gold medals, 10 Silver medals and 7 Bronze medals. Notably, there were valedictorians in grade 10 Chemistry, grade 11 English and grade 11 Information Technology.

Contrary to many people's thinking that students of the Gifted High School only know how to study, the school's talented young faces have also achieved many outstanding achievements in sports such as students being reserve international masters, national masters, Top 6 of the 2023 World Youth Chess Championship, Top 8 of the 2023 World Youth Chess Championship; Gold Medal at the 2023 National High School Sports Tournament for swimming...
Along with that, in the recent early university admissions, more than 20 students received 100% full scholarships and more than 100 students received partial scholarships from universities around the world, with a total estimated scholarship value of over 100 billion VND.
For the domestic market, although the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam have not been released yet, with the results of the first round of the National University of Ho Chi Minh City's Competency Assessment Exam, many students of the school achieved very high scores, including one student who scored 1,053 points, becoming the valedictorian in Ho Chi Minh City.
2024-2025 school year, start training to convert university credits
In her speech, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai - Principal of the school emphasized that the school is changing every day, every hour to improve the quality of teaching and learning with the highest determination.
The upcoming 2024-2025 school year, the school leaders have determined that it will be a school year promoting digital transformation in teaching and learning activities, and will begin to have digital lectures using the "blended learning" method, and online courses to convert university credits from member schools of Ho Chi Minh City National University for students of the Gifted High School.
Students will have a more flexible timetable when they can freely choose subjects according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
