On the morning of December 12, the Admissions Council of Nha Trang University met to discuss the direction of full-time university admissions from 2025. According to Dr. To Van Phuong, Head of the school's Training Department, this admission direction closely follows the 2018 General Education Program and the high school graduation exam plan from 2025.
The high school graduation exam from 2025 will have many changes to suit the 2018 General Education Program.
Accordingly, Nha Trang University's admission orientation is based on High school academic results and university academic performance assessment results.
With the method of considering high school learning results, the school considers based on the high school learning results of certain subjects according to the school's regulations suitable for the industry and major. The learning results of these subjects must meet the minimum requirements announced by the school every year.
For the method of considering university learning capacity assessment results, candidates must participate in the university learning capacity assessment (a separate exam organized by universities). The capacity assessment focuses on math ability (math, logical reasoning and data processing); language (including Vietnamese and English); science (problem solving). For the science part, candidates can choose the scope corresponding to the subjects studied in high school and suitable for the training industry and major according to the school's regulations.

Explaining the plan to not use high school graduation exam scores for admission from 2025, according to a representative of Nha Trang University, the main purpose of the high school graduation exam is to consider graduation as well as evaluate the quality of training in high schools on a national level.
According to the school representative, the enrollment direction that the school has put forth this time focuses on guiding students to know what they need to study in high school to register and study a major.
Thus, in 2025, Nha Trang University plans not to use high school graduation exam scores to enroll students in regular university training programs.
Up to this point, this is the first university to announce an admission direction that is not based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam.
