Some students studying at Tuoi Tre newspaper have the same thinking about topics as reporters.

On the afternoon of September 19, Tuoi Tre newspaper and Nguyen Tat Thanh University concluded the first course of the student training cooperation project between the two sides.

"Quick thinking, very good product completion"

184 students majoring in public relations and multimedia communications at Nguyen Tat Thanh University have completed their regular course at Tuoi Tre newspaper.

Journalist Nguyen Truong Uy - Deputy General Secretary of the Tuoi Tre Newspaper, lecturer of the course - said that the teaching motto of Tuoi Tre Newspaper is to pass on skills to students. Lecturers not only impart skills but also guide students to think about the topic and how to complete that topic.

"Participating in the course at Tuoi Tre newspaper, when making media products, students think quickly and complete the products very well. There are topics and photo reports that students have to go from 5am to record and take pictures of people collecting trash, go out late at night to take pictures of sanitation workers sweeping the streets. They have to go to many places to "work", record many stories.

"You do not choose topics of magnificent landscapes or fancy cafes, but choose scenes of everyday life, ordinary lives, simple but meaningful and humane actions. Some students are very excellent, not only choosing stories to take photos but also making videos and editing them into videos, completing a multimedia product like a reporter," Mr. Uy added.

Evaluating the first training course at the newspaper, Associate Professor Dr. Vu Quang Hao - Head of the Creative Media Department of Nguyen Tat Thanh University - shared that the training goal of the school is that students must know how to work and be able to earn money while studying with the profession they study. That is the reason the school sends students to practice at Tuoi Tre newspaper.

"When the program started, the school was also worried, but the results of the first course were very good. Following the first course, the second course had 388 students continuing to study at Tuoi Tre newspaper. We hope that students will continue to be exposed to practical teaching methods and professional practice at the newspaper like the first course," Mr. Hao suggested.

Journalist Le Xuan Trung - deputy editor-in-chief of Tuoi Tre newspaper - said that this is the first regular university course trained at Tuoi Tre newspaper following the model of the editorial office becoming a university lecture hall. Course 1 has achieved very good results, the students have practiced multimedia journalism effectively, with many high-quality works.

According to Mr. Trung, the successful completion of the first course is the premise for implementing the next training courses at the newspaper. Currently, Tuoi Tre newspaper has prepared more facilities and teaching staff to continue developing the field of student training at the editorial office.

Students are very satisfied when studying at Tuoi Tre newspaper.

At the end of the course, Tuoi Tre newspaper conducted a survey of students about their studies at the newspaper. We surveyed six areas: organization, facilities, training content, training methods, teaching staff, and meeting student expectations.

There are five levels of assessment including very satisfied, satisfied, satisfactory, dissatisfied, completely dissatisfied. The results are as follows:

The survey results showed that the majority of students were very satisfied with the six survey items. There were no dissatisfied or very dissatisfied ratings.

Many students highly appreciate the teaching methods and experience of the lecturers, and hope to continue studying other subjects at Tuoi Tre newspaper.
