Kinhtedothi - On the morning of December 19, the Ministry of National Defense solemnly opened the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024).
Attending the ceremony were Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Politburo members: Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh; General Phan Van Giang - Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense; General Luong Tam Quang - Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Minister of Public Security.
In addition, there were also Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army Trinh Van Quyet; Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong; Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, General Nguyen Tan Cuong; Ministers of Defense of Laos, Cambodia, Cuba, Belarus, Thailand, Brunei, Mongolia; leaders of central and local departments, ministries, branches, agencies; representatives of embassies and international organizations in Vietnam, leaders of the Ministry of Defense, and military commanders of the countries.
Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 aims to strengthen and expand international cooperation, defense diplomacy, build trust between Vietnam and countries around the world; share defense foreign policies and guidelines; advocate building the army and developing the defense industry; create conditions for countries, companies, and domestic and international enterprises to introduce, display products, and seek opportunities to expand cooperation.

The Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 with the participation of 66 international delegations and more than 240 defense industry enterprises from 49 countries also shows the prestige and brand in organizing defense exhibitions of Vietnam.
This is an opportunity to strengthen the relationship and also an opportunity for Vietnam to welcome and show gratitude to international friends, share culture, art, cuisine, etc., and introduce the country and people of Vietnam - a nation that is indomitable and brave in defending the Fatherland, but also peace-loving, industrious and creative, friendly and hospitable.
The Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 has an indoor exhibition area of 15,000m2 and an outdoor area of more than 20,000m2. The exhibition displays 68 types of equipment in service of the Vietnam People's Army on an area of 10,530m2.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his sincere thanks and welcome to guests, partners, customers, and businesses participating in the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024.
The Prime Minister affirmed: The Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 is an affirmation of Vietnam's role and contribution to international defense cooperation; a symbol of trust, respect and goodwill for cooperation between countries for a peaceful, stable and prosperous world; a vivid demonstration of the support and meaningful affection of international friends for the country, people and the Vietnam People's Army - the heroic army of a heroic nation, always showing sincerity, trust and responsibility to international friends.
