Along with Ban Hoc waterfall and Vang Kheo waterfall, Pha Phan is a beautiful, wild and poetic waterfall.
According to the Tay ethnic language, Pha Phan means “rainy sky”. Standing at the foot of the waterfall, people see water pouring out, shooting up small jets of water like it is raining. Standing near the foot of the waterfall always feels like it is raining, so the local people call this “Rainy Sky Waterfall”.
Pha Phan Waterfall is formed from the majestic Khau Choong mountain top with pristine, lush vegetation.
Pha Phan waterfall is located in Pa Bo village, Nghia Do commune, about 5 km from the commune center.
To reach this waterfall, visitors must go through the roads leading to Tay villages and then through steep and rugged mountain trails with old forests, bamboo forests, and reeds.

Where the waterfall flows is a towering, vertical cliff. On both sides of the waterfall is lush vegetation with vast expanses of wild banana flowers, reeds, forest trees and bamboo shoots.
Water flows down to the foot of the waterfall to form a clear natural pond, the bottom of which can be seen with schools of fish swimming around.
In the summer, when coming here, visitors can freely splash around and cool off. When the sun rises high, the sunlight shines through the water, creating a sparkling, magical beauty. In the afternoon, the clouds float around the mountain, falling down on the waterfall, making the space magical and mysterious.
Coming to Pha Phan waterfall, visitors will feel extremely relaxed in the midst of the harmonious scenery of the waterfall, the chirping of birds, the beauty of wild flowers and the immense green of trees and leaves.
Standing from Pha Phan waterfall, looking far away, visitors will observe the poetic and charming Muong Luong valley with stilt house villages gathered at the foot of the mountain, around Nam Luong stream.
