Recently, many clips recording everyday moments between teachers and students in the classroom of Ms. Nguyen Kim Hong (born in 1978) - a teacher at the Primary Boarding School No. 2 in Phong Hai town (Bao Thang district, Lao Cai province) - have received much attention from netizens.

The clips are simply scenes of students spelling, short conversations between teachers and students, moments when the whole class gathers around the teacher... but receive millions of views.

In particular, the clip recording the image of Ms. Hong being given crabs, ginger, rice... by students on Vietnamese Teachers' Day with impressive wishes: "I wish you crawl as fast as a crab", "I wish you eat rice to grow bigger", "I wish you are as beautiful as ginger", "I wish you sing as well as a bird"... has reached more than 15 million views in a short time.

Many people said they had to laugh at the humorous wishes, and were moved by the simple but emotional gifts that students gave to their teachers.

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Ms. Hong said that she loves teaching and always wants to record beautiful memories of each generation of students she teaches. In her free time, she films and posts funny clips between herself and her students.

Ms. Hong said the student who gave her two crabs was named Chang Seo Anh. At first, when she heard that the student would give her crabs, she was very surprised, but still thought it was a joke. When she held the plastic bottle with two crabs in it, Ms. Hong had to laugh at the innocence of the children in the highlands.

Previously, she studied pedagogy in Lao Cai city, then moved back to her hometown in Phong Hai town to teach. Up to now, she has spent 26 years, bringing letters to students in the highlands.

In the past, many people advised Ms. Hong to work near the city center, to have better facilities. However, she wanted to contribute to her hometown.

Having taught in places with favorable conditions, Ms. Hong wanted to care for and teach children in the highlands even more, because she felt that they still lacked many things. Being a cheerful person, Ms. Hong was loved by many students and parents.

"In 26 years of teaching in my hometown, I have had many generations of students. Even the students I teach today, many of them are children of students who studied in my class many years ago. Each year I teach a different class, but each year leaves me with many memories," Ms. Hong confided.

Go to the party and always bring some to take home for the students.

Phong Hai Town Primary Boarding School No. 2 currently has more than 20 classes and about 700 students. Most of the students here are Mong ethnic people, living in difficult circumstances.

The parents of the students at this school are mostly farmers and have financial difficulties. Many even get married and have children very early, do not know how to speak Kinh, and do not have time to take care of their children's education.

"Sometimes when communicating with me, the parents have to ask the students to help translate. Many times I jokingly say that the teachers are happy that the students in this area come to class regularly, because how can the parents take care of their children every lesson?

I love my students very much, often asking for old books and clothes for them, helping them have adequate learning tools. When going to parties, if there is delicious food, I always pack it up and cook it to bring to class for the students to eat. For students who are in difficult circumstances or in need, I also support them with food to take home," Ms. Hong confided.

Many of Ms. Hong’s students come from difficult circumstances, but they are all bold, cheerful, not shy or self-conscious. On holidays throughout the year, especially Vietnamese Teachers’ Day on November 20, under the teacher’s guidance, the students in the class never forget to give her gifts.

"Entering November, I explain to the children the meaning of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, educating them to respect their teachers. I teach them how to express their feelings and love for their teachers through gifts.

However, I emphasize that I only like gifts that the children do not have to pay for, it can be a picture they draw themselves, their hard work and diligence in studying, or anything they can find. So I have received many special gifts such as crabs, ginger, rice, wild flowers, chili, sugarcane... ", Ms. Hong said.

According to her, the gifts her students sent her on Vietnamese Teachers’ Day were all things they cherished. That is why these simple, modest gifts are memories she will never forget.

Ms. Hong shared: "Typically, many students bring ginger to give to their teachers, which is a very meaningful gift. In the highlands, ginger is a familiar spice, associated with people's meals."

On Vietnamese Teachers' Day, receiving simple gifts filled with the innocence and naivety of her students, Ms. Hong could not help but be moved. Ms. Hong confided that standing on the podium every day, watching her students innocently laugh, talk, study and progress every day is a priceless gift.
