Mohamed Salah will have a big impact on Liverpool's transfer plans

If they fail to extend his contract, Liverpool could lose Mohamed Salah for free next summer. The Reds rejected a record £150m bid from Al Ittihad for Salah last August and they do not want to see the Egyptian striker's value plummet.

Jurgen Klopp's departure is expected to help Liverpool in keeping Salah. The pair had a falling out in April during a Premier League game against West Ham. Now the task of tying down the 32-year-old will fall to managing director of football Michael Edwards, technical director Julian Ward and sporting director Richard Hughes. If Salah's future is not resolved by August, Liverpool will have to consider selling the Egyptian star to avoid losing tens of millions of pounds.

This will force them to find a replacement for Salah and this is an extremely important transition for the Anfield team. Captain Virgil van Dijk and vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold also have only 1 year left on their contracts, although negotiations for renewals are going quite smoothly.

Klopp's rebuilding and rebuilding of "Liverpool 2.0" was carried out last summer. The German coach almost completely changed Liverpool's midfield with new elements. The concern for The Kop at this time is probably the attack, when the futures of Salah and Luis Diaz are both threatened.

Liverpool may consider Guehi too expensive, especially given the huge strides Jarell Quansah made last season. Slot also has Joe Gomez at centre-back, who is also at EURO 2024.

The Kop will be looking for a new left-back for Andy Robertson as Kostas Tsimikas has failed to live up to expectations. Last season, Gomez was forced to play on the wing at times when the Scottish defender was injured.

Caoimhin Kelleher will not be happy to return to the bench after a stellar season and, at 25, the Irishman wants regular Premier League football. Liverpool rejected a bid from Nottingham Forest in the winter transfer window and could demand £40m for Kelleher this summer.

Liverpool do not want to lose Kelleher but also understand that they cannot prevent him from leaving if an attractive offer comes in. This will force The Kop to find another backup option for Alisson Becker in goal.
