Expanding output for Quang Ninh OCOP products

Up to now, Quang Ninh has 393 OCOP products from 3 to 5 stars from 13 localities. With the goal of continuing to sustainably and effectively develop the Quang Ninh OCOP brand, expanding the output for products is one of the important tasks that all levels and sectors focus on implementing.

At the same time, with the development of e-commerce, Bavabi oyster floss products have also gone further, present in many provinces and cities and established a solid position in the domestic market. Recently, this product was also present in the Quang Ninh booth participating in the 8th China - South Asia Expo and the 28th Kunming Import and Export Fair, China, in Kunming City, Yunnan Province, China.

Ms. Pham Thi Thu Hien, Director of Van Don Seafood Production and Trading Company Limited said: This is a very valuable opportunity. We have carefully prepared from promotional materials to each product brought to the fair. We have received very good signals from the Yunnan market. Thousands of visitors have come to visit, try the products and discuss signing distribution contracts. After returning to Quang Ninh after the program, we are quickly completing the procedures to be able to export products to China in the near future.

According to the report of the Office of New Rural Area Coordination of Quang Ninh province, by the end of June 2024, the whole province had 393 OCOP products with 3-5 stars. Of which, 296 products had 3 stars; 93 products had 4 stars and 4 products had 5 stars, the whole province had 218 production entities with products with 3-5 stars.

The province also regularly promotes trade, seeks and expands output for Quang Ninh OCOP products, including successfully organizing many fairs, most recently the Quang Ninh OCOP Fair - Spring 2024 and the Quang Ninh OCOP Fair - Summer 2024. The fairs attracted over 120,000 visitors, with total sales revenue reaching over 25 billion VND. In addition, the Department of Industry and Trade and localities have also coordinated to organize 12 district-level fairs and product weeks across the province. This is also an opportunity for production and processing units to find and meet customers and distributors inside and outside the province. One of the most obvious results from these fairs is that up to now, over 80 Quang Ninh OCOP products have participated in large distribution systems, supermarkets, and shopping centers such as Go! Winmart, Coop Mart, etc.

Currently, 100% of OCOP products with 3 stars or more have been put on e-commerce platforms such as Voso, Postmart, Shopee, Lazada... helping to expand the consumption market better to other provinces.

Quang Ninh OCOP products are available at supermarkets in the Go system.

Ms. Nguyen Hien Luong (Ha Long City) shared: I really like Quang Ninh OCOP products, so when I see that I can easily buy these products in supermarkets, I feel more secure. I hope that in the future, there will be more OCOP products in supermarket chains or online distribution channels so that people can shop easily.

In particular, with the goal of promoting cross-border trade and bringing Quang Ninh OCOP products to international markets, Quang Ninh province has also organized booths at 4 domestic and foreign trade promotion programs, including the 33rd Vietnam International Trade Fair (VIETNAM EXPO 2024); China-Vietnam Border Tourism Festival 2024 and China-ASEAN Import and Export Fair; the 8th China-South Asia Expo and the 28th Kunming, China Import and Export Fair in Kunming City, China; Vietnam-Laos International Trade Fair 2024. These programs have all brought about extremely positive results, helping Quang Ninh OCOP enterprises find new directions in export.

Mr. Nguyen Kien, Director of the Center for Promotion and Development of Industry and Trade, Department of Industry and Trade of Quang Ninh, said: In the coming time, the Industry and Trade sector will focus on promoting trade promotion activities, supporting enterprises, production, processing and trading establishments of OCOP products to expand product output. In the immediate future, we will focus on effectively organizing the 2024 Northeast - Quang Ninh OCOP Fair; Quang Ninh OCOP Fair - Autumn-Winter 2024; Organizing the Provincial Business Delegation to participate in key Fairs in 2024 in key economic localities of the region such as Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho. For the international market, we will continue to promote cross-border e-commerce activities; participate in ASEAN - China Fairs; Vietnam Goods Fair in Cambodia 2024; Participate in the 2024 China - Vietnam Border Trade and Tourism Fair in Dongxing (China).
