Implementing the agricultural extension program for the period 2021 - 2025, on the morning of May 19, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development organized a preliminary review of the organic rice production model in Thuy Thanh commune (Thai Thuy).

Thai Binh is gradually building a brand for safe, quality rice, increasing product prices, and establishing growing area codes for export.

Currently, in Thai Binh province, there are only about 200 hectares of organic production, mainly in areas of raising earthworms and clams. To implement the project of building and developing the rice brand of Thai Binh province in the period of 2021-2025 and aiming to 2030 to strive for an area of ​​high-quality rice meeting organic standards of 500 hectares, the Thai Binh Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection has built an organic rice production model associated with linking product consumption in Thuy Thanh commune (Thai Thuy), implemented in 3 years (2022 - 2024) with a total area of ​​11 hectares; selecting Japanese Koji rice variety (2022); Huong Com 4 rice variety (spring crop 2023) for sowing and planting by tray seedling method, transplanting machine and using biological organic fertilizers, Nano organic fertilizers for care. Currently, spring rice is 90% ripe and ready for harvest.

Through field visits and assessments, it is expected that in the spring crop of 2023, the average rice yield will be about 56.96 quintals/ha.

Through the implementation of the organic rice production model in Thuy Thanh commune, it can be seen that Thai Binh province has all the favorable conditions such as weather, climate, soil, labor resources... to produce organic rice. Thereby, creating a concentrated production area according to the scale of goods, applying science and technology to production, gradually building a brand for safe and quality rice, increasing product prices, building a code for growing areas for export and need to be replicated.
