According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from June 23, the heat wave in the North will gradually decrease. From the evening and night of June 23-25, this area is likely to experience a period of moderate to heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with common rainfall from 70-150 mm/period, some places over 200 mm/period. From June 27-29, the North will have scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening and at night.

In provinces and cities from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen, the heat will gradually decrease from June 24 and there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening from June 25 to June 30. In particular, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will have scattered showers and thunderstorms on the night of June 23-27, with some areas experiencing moderate to heavy rain.

The Central Highlands and the South will continue to experience scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening in late June and early July. During thunderstorms, beware of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Heavy rains may cause flooding in low-lying areas.

According to the meteorological agency, from now until July 20, heat waves are likely to increase again in the North and Central regions during the days of July. Temperatures in regions nationwide are generally 0.5-1 degrees Celsius higher, while in the North and Central Central regions, temperatures are 1-1.5 degrees Celsius higher than the average for many years during the same period.

Also during this period, rainfall in most of the Northern and North Central regions was generally 10-30% higher than the average of many years. The Northwest, South Central, Central Highlands, and South were 5-10% higher, and the Central Central region was 5-15% lower.

During this period, there is a possibility of storms/tropical depressions appearing in the East Sea and affecting the North and Central regions.
