(Fatherland) - On the evening of December 26, at the square of the Me Linh District Administrative Center (Hanoi), the opening ceremony of the 2nd Me Linh Flower Festival - 2024 and trade promotion, tourism promotion and culture of Me Linh district took place.

On the evening of December 26, at the Square of the Administrative Center of Me Linh District, Hanoi City, the 2nd Me Linh Flower Festival officially opened with the theme "Me Linh is brilliant with flowers".

Attending the event were Politburo member, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hanoi National Assembly Delegation Bui Thi Minh Hoai; Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh; former member of the Party Central Committee, former Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung; Member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam Women's Union Nguyen Thi Tuyen; Member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Luong Quoc Doan and Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi Nguyen Lan Huong.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Me Linh District Party Secretary Nguyen Thanh Liem said that following the success of the first Flower Festival, this year's festival will be held on a scale of nearly 10,000 square meters, taking place from December 26 to 29. The highlight of the Festival is the 10 main flower modules and 8 miniature landscapes arranged and designed by artisans according to each theme and decorated with flowers grown on Me Linh land, combined with lighting technology, creating a modern, colorful space.

"The 2nd Me Linh Flower Festival is also an opportunity for Me Linh to affirm its position as an attractive tourist destination, a land rich in historical, cultural and revolutionary traditions - the homeland of the heroic Hai Ba Trung. The festival promises to become an event to promote tourism, contribute to socio-economic development, preserve and promote the traditional cultural values ​​of Me Linh district to domestic and international friends..." - Secretary of Me Linh District Party Committee emphasized.

During the 4 days of the Festival, Me Linh district also organized many exciting and meaningful activities, such as: "Flower bicycle decoration contest from recycled materials"; painting contest; gluing and assembling "giant" flower paintings; English Festival activities for students; "Me Linh is brilliant with flowers" Ao Dai performance; special art programs of various sectors and organizations and exciting performances by bands and street circus artists...

In particular, within the framework of the Festival, the People's Committee of Me Linh district coordinated with the Center for Investment, Trade Promotion and Tourism of Hanoi city to organize a "Trade Promotion Fair" with more than 100 booths displaying and introducing agricultural products, OCOP products, and craft village products of Hanoi and 30 provinces and cities nationwide.

This is also an opportunity to promote the image of culture and history of Hanoi in general and Me Linh district in particular; to be a bridge of trade between production and business units and consumers; to carry out the task of stimulating demand and promoting the campaign for Vietnamese people to prioritize using Vietnamese goods.

Therefore, Me Linh district identifies this as a large-scale cultural - tourism - trade promotion event, of important significance in stimulating the consumption of flowers and agricultural products, contributing to improving people's income and life; at the same time, demonstrating the spirit of innovation, creativity and aspiration to reach out and make a strong breakthrough of Me Linh in the "New Era - the era of national growth".
